The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Review

Photobucket

"Yeah, yeah, listen to the story I'm about to tell Another tale about that yayo" Im pretty sure this song was playing a lot while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were writing this movie, because somewhere early on the script went down the tube and blaming drugs is easier than blaming anything else.

Well Brenden Fraser is back for the third time in a movie where no one knows what is happening but mummies are cooler than vampires so… Continue

The Kite Runner Review

Photobucket

Based on a book that my grandma loves, The Kite Runner is the story of two childhood friends (Amir & Hassan) who seem to really like each other. The problem is one of them is a total wimp! After something terrible (i wont tell you what) happens to Amirs friend Hassan their friendship falls apart. Amir and his father leave Afghanistan to live in America where Amir continues to be a pansy and write books. He will later have to find a way to… Continue

One great thing about spill members its that some people have awesome taste in movies. A few weeks ago VeVe told me about this movie Black Sheep and sent me a trailer. Tonight i finally got around to watching it.

Unbreakable Review

Photobucket

As i strolled through the video store today i found a copy of Unbreakable for about 3 bucks. Thats all i needed to see. Who directed it? Who wrote it? Who is in it? Dont care its 3 bucks.

After i get home i rip off the wrapping and see the name, M. Night Shyamalan. Crap i just wasted three bucks! Oh well i will give it a shot.

Turns out M. Night Shyamalan at one time could write! This is a film that some how just passed me by and until… Continue

Eraserhead Review

Photobucket

Im about to go on this adventure where i watch every movie in my DVD collection, alphabetically. But before doing that i decieded this morning i would watch "Eraserhead" by the somewhat well known director David Lynch. I really had no idea what this film was about.

It goes something like this. A guy named Henry is a little messed up in the head. His girl friend moves in with him after she gives… Continue

Bodies, Bodies Everywhere!

Yesterday the movie, Hard Boiled by John Woo arrived in my mail box. I had heard it had a high "body count" so i decided to check it out. As i was watching it i thought to myself, "What movies have the most deaths in them?"

Well thank you google! Here's my list of super violent, blood, dead people. And junk like that

Genre: Action

5. Hard Boiled! (307 bodies) The movie that prompted the questions makes the top five list!

4. Grindhouse: Double feature. (310)… Continue

Man on Wire Review

Photobucket

Most documentaries seem to focus on a really unique story. Something out of the ordinary. The problem i have seen is that they focus so much on that they tend to through out the art film making in the process. A documentary will be still great and tell a fantastic story but be a little dull to watch.

Man on Wire crushes the typical form of documentaries.

The film shows the life of one man, Philippe Petit, who is a tight rope walker.… Continue

Gran Torino Review

Photobucket

I have been waiting for weeks to see this film. They had all that lame limited release which was pretty much a tease saying, "haha this film is playing but not in your town yet!" Well guess what? January 9th is finally here and so is Gran Torino.

The lovable Clint Eastwood plays a man named, "Walt Kowalski" who is alone in his old age. He has seen war, raised a family, and now his wife as passed. Time to sit back and drink lots of… Continue

A look at "Give em' Hell, Malone"

Now first off the only reason im writing about this film is because it was filmed here in Spokane WA. Unfortunately i was stupid and didn't photograph any photos of the set but i was walking in an alley today and guess what i found?

Vehicles from the movie! If you watch the trailer about 1 minute into it you will see both the car and the pink van.

Rebel Without a Crew: Robert Rodriguez

Photobucket

I recently got a new job. Its one of those jobs where you basically do nothing for 4 to 8 hours at a time. But luckily i can read books.

After seeing "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" for the first time i knew i loved Robert Rodriguez style of film making. I went on to love Planet Terror and Desperado as well. Then randomly i found this book called "Rebel Without a Crew" stuffed under some books at the local book store. ROBERT RODRIGUEZ… Continue

Slumdog Millionaire Review

Photobucket

This morning a new ACOCO was posted. As i listened intently i heard Carlyle say that Slumdog Millionaire was in his top 3 movies of the year. So i thought, "fine i will go see a movie about 'who wants to be a millionaire". After driving through the worst weather ever and walking a mile to the theater, i purchase me ticket and find my favorite seat. (the one in front with the railing to put my feet on, and the chair exactly in the… Continue

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Review

Photobucket

Released: Christmas 2008

I dont know if its because its Christmas time or what but movies have been making me sad lately. At least this film didn't make me cry like the middle age woman next to me.

The plot is pretty simple, a man is born old and grows young. Its pretty much all the explanation you need. There are all kinds of other things that occur in the life of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) but i wont spoil any of that for… Continue
