Cormac McCarthy, for those of you who don't know, is also the author of the much loved No Country For Old Men. He said i could borrow the book but being the forgetful guy i am just left it at his house. So this morning i bought a copy of The Road. Since i love writing blogs here on Spill, and since i dont have any new movies to review i thought i would write a response to an interesting question proposed on Ain't It Cool News That question being "Is A Remake OK If The Guy Who Made The Original Film Is The Person Remaking It?" Now apparently this question has been raised because (As you can read on Ain't It Cool News) Donald Wrye is remaking his own movie - Ice Castles. Now first an fore… Continue

Sunshine Cleaning Review

A couple of years ago i actually had someone tell me they could "Hook me up" with a crime scene clean up job. The 30 bucks an hour was tempting but the job just sounded like a joke. Criterion Essentials Vol. 1

Ah the Criterion collection. Possibly the most addicting DVD collection ever? I say yes. With all the super cool packaging, special features, booklets, and all the other crap you could want. The only downside is that dang price tag. Last night i paid 24 bucks for The Blob and 32 dollars for Rushmore but i know it will all be worth it. Lately i have been watching about 2 or 3 films in the Criterion Collection via public libraries. Some have been awesome some i will never know why people pay 40 b… Continue

Away We Go Trailer

Im not usually lame enough to just write a blog with a trailer in it but this morning thats exactly what i feel like doing. One of the biggest reasons this film looks appealing to me is because of John Krasinski beard! Holy crap! why doesn't this guy just grow this thing and never shave like a real man should. Anyway here is the trailer. Away We Go releases in theater June 5th Continue

Coraline Review

Photobucket In a time when computer animation has taken over kid movies Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas) has taken the painfully slow way of making an animated film: Stop motion. And it is freakin beautiful! Coraline (Played by Dakota Fanning) is a young girl who moves into a new house with her mom and dad. Almost immediately she gets bored like any young kid w… Continue

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Review

Photobucket "Yeah, yeah, listen to the story I'm about to tell Another tale about that yayo" Im pretty sure this song was playing a lot while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were writing this movie, because somewhere early on the script went down the tube and blaming drugs is easier than blaming anything else. Well Brenden Fraser is back for the third time in a movie where… Continue
