I’ll just come out and say it: Quentin Tarantino is THE MAN. He is hands down my favourite film-maker of all time. I just adore all of his films that he has written and directed. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, True Romance, From Dusk till Dawn, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Death Proof, all are some of my favourite films of all time. I could write a whole article about how much I love Ta…

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

For those who aren’t aware of the GI Joe mythology, it started as a hugely successful toy line and went on to become one of the biggest cartoons of the 80s.The story was simple: a group of the best soldiers in the world form together GI Joe, who must take on the evil global organization known as Cobra. I have seen some of the episodes from t…

The Taking of Pelham 123
I’ll just say it: I am really not that bothered about remakes. Everyone keeps throwing this big hoop-la about how remakes “destroy” the original films and how it’s “the death of Hollywood”. Advice to the people who do…

The Hangover

Todd Phillip’s The Hangover works like Christopher Nolan’s Memento if you replace Guy Pearce with three hung-over friends and replace the death of his girlfriend with the disappearance of their friend. And if you were to set in Las Vegas. With lots of sleazy humour.
The film follows three friends; schoolteacher Phil (Bradley Cooper), dentist Stu (Ed Helms)…

What is there to say about Harry Potter that hasn’t been said already? The books are the most popular series of novels today, the same goes with the films, tying with James Bond as being the biggest film series of all time. Not to mention the GINORMOUS fan base it has created. To me, Harry Potter is the new Star Wars; they are the must-see films of their generation and will undoubtedly…

Drag Me To Hell
I will just say this right here, right now: this is the single best horror film in the past couple of years. Now horror films have usually followed a similar pattern over the past decade or so. They have either been slasher remakes (Friday the 13th, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), torture porn (Hostel, Saw, Martyrs) and based on Japanese horror…

It is no doubt that Jams Bond is one of, if not the biggest film franchise of all time. From Dr No to Casino Royale, the series has brought us some of the best action films of all time. The last film, Casino Royale, was a brilliant reboot of the series and brought us the best Bond since Sean Connery in Daniel Craig. With Quantum of Solace, while it is not quite as brilliant as Casino Royale, it is still excellent action film that ranks as one of the best Bond films.
Quantum of Solace is the fir…

It was touch and go for a day or so, but according to estimates, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (Warner Bros.) has won the weekend, narrowly defeating the third installment of the "Mummy" franchise, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (Universal) starring Brendan Fraser and Maria Bello.
Racking up its third weekend at #1, The Dark Knight added an estimated $43.8 million to its staggering $395 million take after just seventeen days, putting it in line to cross the $400 million mark tomorr…

Foul-mouthed hitmen, racist dwarves, Crazy mafia bosses and overweight American tourists. All the things that make In Bruges fantastic.
You look at the trailer for In Bruges; you instantly think it’s a Guy Ritchie-like madcap hitman comedy, when actually while it is funny, it is much more dark and dramatic than expected. And it turns out to be a film that will definitely make my top 10 list this year.
The plot goes is that Colin Farrell plays a hitman called Ray who, on his first job, kills so…

Review for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
After the cinematic returns of Star Wars, Terminator, Rocky, Die Hard and Rambo, it was just about time for Indiana Jones to follow. And I’m glad to say that the new film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is a worthy addition to this legendary franchise.
The story is set in 1957, so it is a bit different in tone to the first three. As they were homage to 1930s republic serials, this one is more in tone to 1950s B-Movies, and that is a…

I got a couple more reviews coming up so heres my first
Now Iron Man is not as well known as Batman or Spider-Man, but now the much-anticipated film adaptation is out, I’m pleased to say that Iron Man easily takes its place among the Top 10 Superhero films of all time and as the best superhero film since Batman Begins and X2.
Now last year was a disappointment in comic book adaptations. We had the below-average Ghost Rider, the flat and lifeless Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and th…
