One of the big upsides of being a member of the League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen (and there are many) is that it keeps me in fairly constant contact with my man Leon. Don't read to much into that. The real source of joy is the fact that in Leon I found somebody I can actually talk about the nuts and bolts of comic books with-not just the story or the artwork but the guys behind the scenes that make the magic happen. Colorists. Inkers. Editors. Before I could bring nearly any well-intention… Continue

....David Hasselhoff?
Really?
Oh yeah.
Really.
RLY?
SRSLY. RLY.
Yeah, those of you who weren't doing something more fun (like, oh say, contracting dysentery, or administering an enema to your kindly old 300 pound Aunt Alberta, or not telling those damn commies a thing as they inserted the bamboo slivers into your urethra) on May 26 1998 may remember si… Continue

Holy crap, has anyone else seen this promo for the new BBC series No Heroics?
This looks fucking hilarious. I soooo wish I had BBC America. There hasn't been a good attempt at using superheroes as a humor medium since The Tick (actually, come to think of it the BBC series My Hero used this trope and was pretty damn funny-but this show looks infinitely cooler). This series has the advantage of appearing on a network that won'… Continue
Well, MV I couldn’t be happier to answer your question as strong female characters are a particular passion of mine. Unfortunately they ain’t all that easy to find in superhero-ville. But I will do my best to use my Jedi powers to guide you through he minefield of :

Don't peek if you don't want to spoil the surprise but they've "Leaked" a pic of Aaron Eckhart as Two-face.
OH MY YES.
Perfect. Gag-inducing. No one has ever done two-face right outside of the Animated series-this looks incredible. Continue

"InsidetheSuit.com, has been updated with a clip fo the end credits animation and 3-D views of the various armors. You'll need to use the code "LG99" at the left panel to access these features."
So, not exactly a scop for some but in this latest volley of promotion (and I swear, I think I've seen about a third of the damn movie by now) I did manage to unconver this little tidbit:… Continue
So, amongst the oohing and aahing over Mila Kunis' (fake) boob shot , Kristen Bell's sexual yoga and Peter "the Peter" Segel's cock, most reviewers have ignored outright tthe contributions of the only other female of noe in the cast, Maria Thayer. Those who were paying attention may have recognized Maria, who plays the sexully frustrated newlywed spous… Continue

In another item of news that possibly no one is interested in at all, they've realeased the first pictures of Scarlett, the crossbow-toting counter intelligence operative of the G I Joe team. Scarlett (Real name Shana O'Hara-yeah, Scarlett O'Hara. Get it? Neither did my ten-year old former self) was about the only thing standing between the entire Joe team smelling like a boys locker room and the producers have apparenly chosen to play up her wiles by outfitting her in a skintight bondage sui… Continue

"In the latest exhibition of taboo busting, Jason Segel, the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will be seen totally naked in one scene in which his character is rejected by his girlfriend, played by Kristin Bell. Reporting on the scene, today's (Wednesday) Los Angeles Times commented that the amount of full-frontal male nudity in the scene is "unprecedented" and that when the movie was screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, TX last month, "every time Segel was shown au natu… Continue

Hey Pete,
Beau here.
Ah, you probably don't remember me. Hell, I was born nearly nine years after you so why should you?
But, I gotta say those few years in between our meeting come as almost secondary. Hell, when I was alive you fell in love, got cloned, went through some major wardrobe changes and HECK, you even got married.
It's been a rough couple of decades even when considering the slowdown time changes of "marveltime".
Anyhoo, I just wanted to tell you-just wait. All of the horrible… Continue
For those of you who are tuning in here as a result of the first LEOG podcast (and I'm fairly willing to bet that's, oh, 90% of you) thanks for the ads. Nice to be noticed/appreciated/villified/trolled. I'm a leo and we're all about the attention.
RIght.
On to more important matters, the new Mamet film I mentioned in the 'cast, REDBELT, is a lot more intriguing than it sounds (or, rather how I made it sound as I was trying to explain it to Cyrus and Leon). Anyhoo, given as most people within t… Continue

After pondering the nature of God (specifically why God why) I happened upon this. After waiting a few days before actually watching the trailer (then the attendant surgeries that followed me getting new corneas to replace the ones I had damaged by rubbing them with cocaine and Jack Daniels in a futile attempt to MAKE IT STOP) all I have been able to come up with as to the nature and purpose of this film… Continue

Ok so Tony Head (that's Rupert Giles on Buffy the Vampire Sayer for all you non-fanboy types) is in an upcoming release entitled Repo! The Genetic Opera! in which he will co-star with Paris Hilton, Joan Jett and...wait for it...Nivek Ogre (the erstwhile vocalist for industrial music act Skinny Puppy for those of you who don't have a copy of Rabies on cassette lying arund somewhere).
I'm still doing the math on whether I find this:
A) very… Continue

Peter Jackson is finally going to produce "The Hobbit".
As most of the people out there who follow film geekery know, Jackson and New Line, the studio that produced LOTR spent the last year squabbling over money but it seems they have put the douchebaggery behind them and will be allowing Jackson to take the Helm on The Hobbit.
The upshot of this is that the beautiful organic feel and look of the original t… Continue

So the bad news is my imac, my beautiful desklamp-looking circa 2000 model, went tits up last week. No biggie as far as all that-I've been scheming to get a new MacBook anyway and that pretty much set the decision in stone.
However...
Turns out the Apple folk "geniuses" aren't able to retrieve any of my data-I could hire a data recovery firm to fetch it but it'd set me back at least 4 c-notes and to be honest, with the business so bad at Opal's lately that's pretty much out of the question.
