Excerpts From Bill Carter's Upcoming 'The War For Late Night' Revealed In Vanity Fair

Bill Carter's new book, 'The War For Late Night', hits bookshelves next Thursday and Vanity Fair has put up some interesting excerpts from the new book online.



Carter also wrote 'The Late Shift' which chroniclized the controversial Jay Leno/David Letterman fight for The Tonight Show and 'The War For Late Night' follows the events of the Leno/Conan O'Brien fights for The Tonight Show.

'Happy Days' Dad Tom Bosley Dies At Age 83!

Tom Bosley, the patient, understanding father on television's long-running "Happy Days," has died. He was 83.



The family says Bosley died of heart failure at 4 a.m. Tuesday at a hospital near his Palm Springs home. Bosley's agent, Sheryl Abrams, says he was also battling lung cancer.



TV Guide ranked Bosley's Happy Days character No. 9 on its list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" in 2004.

Why Is Community Slowly Becoming One Of My Favorite TV Shows?

At the beginning of the second season of Community, I had put Community in my top five favorite shows on TV behind The Office, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and Modern Family and ahead of 30 Rock.

Good News: LOLA Renewed For Full Season, Bad News: Outsourced & The Event Renewed For Full Season

All remaining freshman series on NBC got some good news today. Three, The Event, Law & Order: Los Angeles and Outsourced, have been picked up for the rest of the season with back-nine orders. So, the big premieres of the Fall TV season have all past as we end the fourth week of the 2010 - 2011 TV season.

Talkin' About The Movies Review: The Social Network

Me in 2009:



"They're making a movie about Facebook, well that's going to suck."



A few months later:



"Aaron Sorkin wrote it, the guy who wrote one of my favorite movies of the decade, Charlie Wilson's War. I don't know, I like the guy's work but it's still a movie about Facebook."

Stephen J. Cannell Dead At Age 69!

Stephen J. Cannell, the producer of numerous iconic television shows has died at the age of 69.



Cannell created or co-created nearly 40 TV series including "The Rockford Files," "The Greatest American Hero," "The A-Team," "Wiseguy," "21 Jump Street," "Silk Stalkings," and "The Commish." In the process, he scripted more than 450 episodes, and produced or executive produced over 1,500 episodes. The Emmy-winning producer also was the author of 16 novels.
