Audiences Heart 'Paul Blart'

Source: The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Much like its goofy titular character, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" has defied expectations. The slapstick comedy, which cost a mere $26 million to produce, is speeding toward the $100 million mark following back-to-back weekends atop the box office.

Could this surprise success signal the arrival of Kevin James in Hollywood's stable of bankable leading comedic actors?

For nine seasons, James served as the lovable master… Continue

Liam Neeson is officially a full-fledged action star. The Irish-born actor has often played heroes, whether it was Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece Schindler’s List, the wise Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace or determined sex researcher Alfred Kinsey in 2005’s biopic Kinsey, Neeson has always had a knack for playing the earnest-but-flawed good guy. In his new movie Taken (Fox), writer/producer Luc Besson and… Continue

Emily Blunt May Be Forced Out Of Iron Man Sequel For Gulliver's Travels?

Source: Peter Scrietta, slashfilm.com

A couple weeks back it was reported that Emily Blunt had been cast in Marvel’s Iron Man 2. But it turns out that 20th Century Fox has an option on the actress from a deal that was made when she co-starred in The Devil Wears Prada that might prevent the Golden Globe winner from entering the Marvel Universe. Fox wants Blunt to star in Gulliver’s Travels, which is set to shot in the UK starting in Late March, while Iron Man 2 begins production this… Continue

Dream Cast: Barack Obama: The Movie

The question is who would be cast in a movie based on the new president Barack Obama. Who could easily play the role of the current leader of the United States and who could play his family and other people involved in his life. So here we go.

The role of Barack Obama should be played by...

DON CHEADLE

The obvious choice. I think that if you give someone like Will Smith the role, it would not be that good. I… Continue

My Spill Rating Predictions For The Week Of January 30th!

‘Gran Torino’ to Become Biggest Eastwood Flick Ever While ‘Underworld’ Likely Takes the Weekend

Source: Brad Brevet, Rope Of Silicon

I didn’t necessarily like Gran Torino and as a result have received my fair share of email telling me how stupid I am as a result. However, that doesn’t mean I will fail to recognize the fact people seem to have an interest in what may end up being Clint Eastwood’s final screen performance as it is sure to become the actor’s biggest box-office success as an actor by the middle-end of next week.

Steve Mason brings us the early Friday… Continue

Aaron's Max Payne Review

All right, folks. The first thing to know before going into this review is that I really liked Hitman, which is very similar to the movie I'm reviewing. I strongly disagree with most people that it's a bad movie although it does have its' shitty moments. Second thing is that not a lot of video game movies are good at all (Resident Evil). So anyway, this is my review of 'Max Payne' starring Mark Wahlberg and the lovely Mila Kunis & Olga Kurylenko.…

Abigail Breslin is in talks to enter Zombieland, the horror-comedy directed by Ruben Fleischer.

The Little Miss Sunshine star will play sister to Emma Stone's character; together they're con-artists who cross paths with Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg in a zombie-infested world.

Warner Bros. Developing 'Tom & Jerry' Movie

Source: David Chen, slashfilm.com

Despite the critical drubbings that they took, films like Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks, which took classic childhood cartoon characters and inserted CGI versions of them into the real world, still made big bank. Desperately wanting to make too much of a good thing, Warner Brothers is now developing a Tom and Jerry film, which, unlike the disastrous 1992 Tom and Jerry film, will have a CGI version of the cat and mouse doing battle in… Continue

A few weeks ago, the internet was rampant with speculation about Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell’s roles in Iron Man 2. Conflicting reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter made people ask who was playing who, and wonder whether Rourke would in fact be playing Crimson Dynamo in the sequel. You can check out our original post on the subject here, and be sure to check out some good analysis by CHUD and MTV too.

Fellow slasher movie watching pal and overall Internet fiend Devin Feraci reports in from Sundance with some interesting news. Actor Bill Hader (Superbad, Saturday Night Live) sat down with SNL scribe Simon Rich and they hashed out a slasher film together. Even stranger, Hader tells CHUD.com that it's intended for Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin).

Hader through a quartet of films that his horror opus can draw comparisons to, but he says "It is definitely… Continue

Sony Pushes '2012' Out Of Summer

Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Sony's Columbia Pictures is delaying the release of Roland Emmerich's 2012 from July 10 to Nov. 13, two weekends before the lucrative Thanksgiving session.

"We've had such success with the James Bond films in November that we wanted a big tentpole film in that slot this year," Sony distribution president Rory Bruer said Tuesday. "We've got so many films in the summer that this is the perfect answer to that."

The studio has now… Continue
