My Take On The "Let The Right One In" Remake

Let The Right One In Pictures, Images and Photos

I'll start off this blog by saying, I love this film. When I first saw it, I thought it was perhaps the 3rd best film I had seen last year. After 3 months and 10 subsequent viwings (yes, I mean 10), It's tied for my favorite film of all time. It's such a touching and original story that is still fresh after every rewatch. So you can imagine what my response to the news of remake… Continue

Coraline Review + Sergio's Rentals (2/9-2/15)

Im going to post this early as if I do end up seeing any more films this week, it'll be a second viewing of Coraline, this time in 3D. Since Coraline's the newest film I saw this week, I'll place it conveniently at top. If you'e wondering what else I saw this week, I have it down lower. Also, I usually write these for a column I do on IMDB so I use numerical ratings instead of the spill one we usually use. So... here goes:…

Taken Review + Sergio's Rentals (2/2 - 2/8)

I've decided to put Taken on top of the list of films I saw this week in an effort to get this blog featured (:P). I've started a new weekly thing where I share all the films I saw during the week. It's a way for me to keep track of everything Ive seen and what exactly I thought about it when it was still fresh in my mind. Also, I get to give reccommendations and my thoughts on films you should and shouldn't rent next time you go to Blockbuster. Also, I usually write these for a column I do on… Continue

A Very Late Look Back At 2008

Yes I know how late this is. When I realized I wasn't going to watch Slumdog or The Wrestler anytime soon, I decided to post it.

Get Smart Pictures, Images and Photos

10. Get Smart (2008) (Followed very closely by Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian)

Yes I KNOW this has only a thread of a plot. This film gave me everything I ask for from a summer film: a lot of laughs, some great action, and Anne Hathaway looking… Continue

Keys To Making A Remake

Now remakes have been around for a long time. Even movies we consider classics are sometimes remakes themselves, such as Ben-Hur and The Wizard of Oz. But recently, we've seen a large wave of remakes and a lot planned in the coming years. The major problem is that Hollywood is not doing it right. Here are several keys on How To Make A Good Remake:

Find A Producer/Director Who Cares About The Original

Now if you're remaking some crappy 80's techtrance… Continue

My Top 50 List 3: Electric Bugaloo

For a more extensive history of the movies I like and dislike, go here: http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=37463023. For this time, I've changed around about 11 different movies. I really don't have a favorite film and I'm no good at putting some movies over others. but there are movies I really liked a little more than other movies I really like (?) so I'll have five categories: 50-36, 35-26, 25-16, 15-6, 1-5; each in no particuliar order (except for my top 5).

#50 to… Continue

The Worst Action Films EVER

Now you'd think movies intended as dumb fun would at least be fun right? Well, here's several action flicks that will prove you otherwise:

5. Final Justice (1985)

Why in the hell did anyone decide that fatass Joe Don Baker would make a good action hero? Who??? This movie features our morbidly obese hero as a man who cannot stop mumbling random crap from his lips. He makes for a poor man's Dirty Harry. My Advice?… Continue

My New And Totally Revamped Top 50!

For a more extensive history of the movies I like and dislike, go here: http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=37463023 . I can't remember every movie I've ever seen but this is about half. I really don't have a favorite film and I'm no good at putting some movies over others. but there are movies I really liked a little more than other movies I really like (?) so I'll have five categories: 50-36, 35-26, 25-16, 15-6, 1-5; each in no particuliar order. Film Analysis: Perfect Movies

I'd like to analyze a myth about movies that's known as the "perfect movie". A lot of people, especially on IMDB and other movie forums, like to proclaim the existance of "perfect movies" such as The Godfather, Citizen Kane, or 2001: A Space Odyssey. Now personally, I'll admit that I'm not as educated in "classic" movies as the average person on a movie forum such as this one. I haven't seen Casablanca, The Seven Samurai, The Third Man, and a couple other much older movies. But I find the idea… Continue
