Unless you're a chick or love animated movies, chances are good that you'll be finding something else to see this weekend when
The Twilight Saga: New Moon and
Planet 51 hit theaters. Regardless of what happens, I know I'll be comfortably seated in front of my personal home theater watching these movies:

I love movie monsters, especially when they aren't your typical vampire, werewolf or zombie. Not to say that I don't love those too, but there's just “something special” about a new, creepy-looking creature.
Pumpkinhead, The Creeper f…

I have a love/hate relationship with apocalyptic movies. While I love watching them for their stellar special effects, I hate them for two reasons: 1) they scare the shit out of me and 2) they have some of the dumbest plots ever. However, when it comes time for a new “end of the world” flick to hit theaters, it almost always does well. Whether they make you paranoid or cause you to laugh your ass off, one thing's for sure: they're entertaining. Here are my picks for best apocalyptic flicks, brok…

With the release of
The Twilight Saga: New Moon just around the corner, I find myself having to stand up for what’s right in this world. Of course, most of the things that are right in my world happen to be undead and supernatural creatures, but I digress. While the film presents us with the battle between the sexy-but-underage werewolves and the glitter-wearing vampires, I’m going to kick it old school and have a good old…

How would you like a Christmas movie with a side order of horror? This week, you get exactly that when
Robert Zemeckis’
A Christmas Carol and
The Fourth Kind hit theaters. I’m not sure which I’ll end up seeing or if I’ll skip both and see…

I cannot wait for
The Men Who Stare at Goats to come out this Friday! While the film was independently produced and seems clever and funny as hell, the cast is what really piqued my interest. As a movie lover, casts don’t come much better than
George Clooney,
Ewan McGregor,…

Anyone who’s sat down to watch a horror movie has more than likely come across the dreaded phrase “Based on a true story.” Of course, when it comes to these tales of woe, the only people who would actually know if it’s really a true story are dead, deformed, agoraphobic or slowly dying from a mystery ailment th…

This Friday is the release of
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, and I have to say that I’m super pumped for it. Not only does it look funny with just the right parts of darkness, but it has an excellent cast:

Throughout the month of October, horror fans want nothing more than to get the ultimate Halloween experience. We watch way too many movies, dress up in bitchin' costumes and decorate our homes to look like haunted houses. Comics can be another great outlet for dread heads. Titles like
The Walking Dead,…

Couples Retreat, which stars

My favorite thing about the fall season is the arrival of Halloween because with it comes great movies, killer costumes and lots of sweet delights. While everyone knows that horror films can be made for relatively little money, which is why there’s so many of them. Often, the smaller budgets lead to crappier movies. However, there are a few indie horror films that really use their budget to their advantage, making some of the most innovative and enjoyable films in the last few years. Chances are…
