I'm really excited to go see District 9 this weekend. So excited that I've been watching the original short film that the director Neill Blomkamp originally created.
It's a cool little short film, and watching this has made me wonder. What short films would make great feature length films?
So I searched all over Youtube, high and low, near and far, and even up and down for a whole bunch of short films I… Continue

To be honest I didn't expect much from this movie, it was made with two guys from youtube, there limit for a video is ten minutes and self sterotypes are used as a punchline and most of their videos are similar to the others, so with that in mind let me tell you about "sean and ryans not so excellent adventure" and trust me im sure it was called that after they saw the quality of the film.
Hello fellow Spill members,
If you don't know me, I'm inspiring film student at SFSU. A fellow student from school came together to take on the Skinit $10,000 spotlight TV challenge.
The challenge is to create a 60-sec commercial for the product website skinit.com. If we win, we are not only given $10,000 to fund future films but a chance to have the commercial air on TV!
This commercial is an original idea from concept to finish and all of us are proud of our finished product. So we are aski… Continue

There's this guy on YouTube called the "Movie Preview Critic." What he does is review movie trailers and decide if the movie is worthy or unworthy.
The channel is really good, interesting and important. You just have to go watch his videos!

Sexman. A teen loved and admired by the spill community. A pimply, toothy, skinny, youtube god. A amature film maker, movie reviewer, and video blogger popularized by his exagerated geekiness. But who is he? Who is the man behind the hilarity?
The somehow canadian-and-still-american began his youtube career with his infamous "screw you porn addicts" monologue, and a rant on the suckiness of high school musical. That was about a year ago, and the starting point of the sexman mythology. Just from… Continue

10) Weighing in at an arse-numbing 163 minutes long and featuring relentless close-up brutality in among scenes of near-rape, child murder and genocide – not to mention a supporting role for a outsized blue penis – Watchmen is unlikely to steal Slumdog Millionaire’s tagline of ‘The Feel-Good Movie Of The Year!’ But it’s searing, spectacular and simply unmissable.
9) It’s therefore a real shame Alan Moore is refusing to watch Zack Snyder’s adaptation of the twilight-of-the-superheroes classic he… Continue
God almighty what a year! Obama becomes president. The economy goes down the drain... and a great year for movies. Even with bittorrent, watch-movies.net, limewire and thousands of other things that are making the MPAA cry, people still went to the theaters... alot.
So I'm basically going to cover everything about 2008 that rocked in countdown form. Not really going to elaborate that much since many of the prime movies speak for themselves. Anyways, let's begin.
FAVORITE FILMS OF 2008
