AVP:Alien Vs Predator (2004) Review

Rating-Some Ole' Bullsh*t!!   Talk about a letdown. I mean what the fuck happened? Did Paul W.S (Worthless shithead) Anderson's balls drop off or something? Well, we got a lot of shit to dig through so lets get started.    The story of Alien Vs Predator (AVP) is that a satellite owned by the…

Zero Dark Thirty Review

It took ten years and two wars to find the most wanted man in contemporary American history: Osama bin Laden, the fanatical man who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians around the world. Whether the events in this film portray the facts or are merely a variation of what really…

Gangster Squad Review

When someone says that there is a new crime film set in the '40s and '50s and it has people like Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte and plenty of other fantastic actors and actresses, you would expect it to either be Oscar caliber material or at the very least a very excellent crime drama…

Quentin Tarantino's Pop Culture References Listed Chronologically

I am an enormous fan of director Quentin Tarantino, but even I have to admit that he does tend to lean on certain tropes time and time again. One of his biggest is his usage of dialogue laden with references to various pop culture landmarks and footnotes alike. This new video from College Humor actually goes through Tarantino's entire catalog and lays out the references chronologically according to the…

How "The Walking Dead" TV Show Can Learn from the Video Game...

It’s a strange time we live in where not only a video game adaptation of a licensed product proves excellent but turns out to be the best part of the franchise.  Yes, that’s blasphemous to some, but let me explain: the Walking Dead comic, though expertly written frequently…

First Footage From 'The Host 2'

I love Bong Joon-ho's 'The Host.' I found it to be an incredibly affecting monster movie. The opening rampage through that riverside community in Korea was, by itself, worth the price of admission. When I heard a sequel was in the works, I was (cautiously) excited. The first footage for 'The Host 2'has just landed…

"Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two" Is Not That Epic...

It's been a while since Disney fans like myself have been to the dark  world of Wasteland, the alternate Disneyland for forgotten and rejected Disney characters over history.  Since then, Wasteland's leader Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has started to grow his fan base out of the nerdy Disney fans origins into one where he has his own float in Tokyo Disneyland and merchandise in Walt Disney World.…

New 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' Clip

I've gone back and forth on the new 'Texas Chainsaw 3D.' The part of me that doesn't hate horror remakes remains optimistic, but the part of me that keeps being forced to look at all the marketing material can't help but feel a sense of impending doom. This latest clip is not helping. I like that it's the first real clip of Leatherface on a rampage, but the overly slick…

Video From The Set Of 'Thor: The Dark World'

It's rare that big studio films, especially Marvel properties, let their security lax to such a degree that anyone can get video as clear, and of so crucial a scene, as this leaked set video from Alan Taylor's 'Thor: The Dark World.' In the video, Thor (…

Plastic Joint review: Wreck-It-Ralph

http://www.plasticjoint.com/?p=3159

Wreck-It-Ralph (John C. Reilly), or Ralph for short, is a bad guy in a game 'Fix-It-Felix-Jr' (Felix played by Jack McBrayer). On the 30th anniversary of the game's release, Ralph got fed up with being treated horribly, so he decided to hop onto…

Darth Vader Goes To Disneyland

The biggest news this week, possibly this year, is that Lucasfilm was purchased by Disney, and that a new movie in the iconic 'Star Wars' franchise is slated for 2015. Almost immediately, the geek literati took to the internet with plenty of humorous reactionary images and videos. One of my favorites is this video of Darth Vader's trip to Disneyland. It's fun and features a wonderful, more…

The Witcher - Review

So, I finally finished The Witcher.

I played on the hardest difficulty and it took me about a month to make it to the end, with an effective playing time of about 7 days, plus/minus 12 hours, without subtracting sleeping times. So probably a grand total of between 85 - 100 hours.

Considering everything, it's a really good game with a great story. I had a few problems with it though, but first, let's get to the positives:

The Story:

The Game is based on a…

A Fan of Beau Plays Pirate101... And Then Reviews It!

I've been a fan of Beau since I first started listening to LEOG on a regular basis.  I still am, even listening to the occasional Lounge Geeks podcasts he's on if the topic is something interesting.  I mean, let's face it, Beau is really entertaining, and I can't show my appreciation for that properly.

I'm not a big fan on MMORPGs in general.  The last one I played was…

Video Game Movie Adaptations: How they fail and how they can be done

We live in an age now where comicbooks are being adapted into movies which is great because I'm a fan of comics and it's great to see these characters I love getting the big screen treatment. However I feel we're being unfair by not giving other genres a shot most notably video games. Now we've had video games adapted before such as Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros and any of Uwe Boll's movies. Now these were all failures because they didn't get the right people, the people…
