Seriously Capcom? #$%@ You!

Hey all, this is my most recent article. I wrote it about a week or so ago but I haven't had any internet at my place so I couldn't post it until now. check it out!

For years, I've held the belief that Capcom hates its fighting game fans. But now that I'm older and more mature (lulz!), I realize that it's not hate that they have for us, but a lack of respect. I realize that Capcom is not some sort…

At what point is it acceptable to point out that someone is an idiot on Spill?

There seems to be some controversy about when it's alright to call someone on the stupid shit they've said on this site. I've defended Hector a time or two, not because he's never said anything beyond reproach, but because I was under the impression that he is very young. Based on his profile pic and his writing, I pegged Hector at around 10 years old. However, a cursory glance at Hector's page the other day revealed that Hector is, in fact, 16 years old. In my opinion, 16 is well past the…

What I learned about parenting from Troll 2

When most people think of Troll 2, their minds immediately jump to this:

However, I watched this misunderstood film just last night, and was surprised to find that it was a wealth of information on a number of subjects, particularly parenting. Here are the 5 most important lessons I…

Define "So Bad It's Good"

I recently watched "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" and didn't like it. This surprised me, considering that everyone was praising the film for its intentional badness and its status as the next big "so bad, it's good" movie. To me, the movie only had a few glorious moments of hilarious failings and those were few and far between. I racked my brain trying to realize why…

A Triple Review of Horror Movies: [Rec], Troll 2, and The Thing

I'm not quite sure how it happened, seeing as horror is one of my least favorite movie genres, but I somehow randomly found myself watching three different horror movies this week. Those movies were Spanish cult classic [Rec], the ultimate so-bad-it's-good movie Troll 2, and John Carpenter's classic remake, The Thing. [Rec] and The Thing are both near the top of the list as far as widely loved and praised horror movies are concerned. Troll 2, however, is the on the opposite end of the spectrum.… Continue
