So apparently the Fox-Bay feud is going to be settled in the upcoming Transformers 3: Attack of the Explosions. The rumor mill is now spouting that Michael Bay wants to kill of Megan Fox's character in the first few scenes of the next movie to be replaced by an all-new hot (and most likely acting-deficient) star. Bay also wants to take pleasure in this by having her die in the goriest way possible (even… Continue
Well...I just saw the poster, the cast, and the crew....wow....not in a good way...I'm outraged!!!
Where do I begin?
Well, we know that recent horror movie remakes have NOT been as good as the originals in the last few years, have they? (Fri. The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween. NOTE: If there are people who like these movies, don't bash me, I mean nothing against you. I jst didn't like them.) So, why remake stuff!? This is my favorite slasher movie series of all time, but they have th… Continue
Let's take a step back a year to that little film released called The Dark Knight (don't worry if you havent seen it...it's pretty crappy :P.) At the start of the film there was quite an intense bank robbery, masks, gun shots, some safe cracking, more gun shots..the works. And when we finally saw the scene, many compared it to Michael Mann's Heat, saying that Christopher Nolan payed "homage" to this classic film. But then let's take a look in a more....shitty direction. I'm sure everyones eyebal… Continue

What did I say about the first live-action Transformers film? It sucked. No matter how much I run into this film by accident, it is still a lame movie. But at least, it… Continue
The short answer is: YES! Having said that, there are a few exceptions. I saw the trailer for the Coen brothers new film “A Serious Man” in the theater recently and it was so convoluted, I couldn’t figure out what the hell it was about. For the most part, however, I have come to the conclusion that most trailers give away too much of the films. “The Hangover” is just one of many movies that revealed its best joke/jokes in the trailer. How many times have you seen a film where you’ve already seen… Continue

I know that TF2 is pretty outdated right now. I originally posted this to my website, which is currently undergoing a redesign and may be down for a while.
Before I began, I am often on the Internet Movie Databases's(IMDB) message boards, www.imdb.com, and I know the typical arguments used to defend TF2 as an amazing movie
There is:
"You go to transformers to see giant robots and explosions, you don't expect there to be academy award winning acting. "
So it is not fair to expect good actin… Continue

This summer may be looked back upon as the summer that turned it around. It might be the last summer studios and filmmakers throw millions of dollars at the screen for no particular reason. Why? District 9.
Tips for the Producers of Major Motion Pictures
1. Don't Get a Star to be in your movie, just because they're a star.
Today many big-name actors get paid millions of dollar per movie, racking up the budgets to levels beyond what they should be, why do you think "Funny People" cost $75 mill… Continue

2009 has been a decent year so far. More of the films have been mediocre, but there have been some excellent gems and horrific abominations against humanity. So, let's go with a good news-bad news scenario and start with the bad.
EDIT: I can only put movies on here I have seen. As of this edit, Funny People is the most recent movie I've seen (though District 9 looks awesome!)
Worst of 2009...So Far5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Plot of the movie: The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible f… Continue
Hey spilios, this is my first time blogging on the site so be gentle i'm a bit of a virgin at this. So anyway to commemerate this occasion i'm gonna start off with a topic near and dear to me, what is up with this summer's movies? Here I was expecting a season of blockbusters designed to blow me out of my socks but I keep getting hit across the face with the cow manure Hollywood calls films. With the exception of a notable few: The Hangover, Terminator, and I know i'll be despised for bringing i… Continue

Back in the 1980’s, Hasbro was the leader in half-hour toy commercials disguised as cartoons. Those commercials were Transformers, GI Joe, and My Little Pony. Argue all you want, the bottom line with these shows was to sell toys. While I find that logic of marquee value a bit shameful, I found GI Joe more tolerable. Sure, it didn’t have the coolest to… Continue

I think faithfulness is very important because im tired of hollywood screwing up comic book characters like venom, galactus, and deadpool just so they can say "oh hey we know we screwed up so lets make a spin off movie where we can get the characters right and milk more money from the fans". However if the director can make it work like with Iron Man or Watchmen or even The Dark Knight then i'll have no problem with it. Very rarely i will accept huge changes like transformers for example (which… Continue
*Whew!* Oh man, what an exhausting week, running around Comic-Con and now that we're finally back home...we're gonna be just as busy this week. Besides playing catchup on our regular schedule of movie reviews you can expect this week we'll be filling the blogs and podcasts with the details of what we did on the trip, what cool stuff we saw, what happened at the Spill party and what famous people we hung out with.
Take note: Even though we saw plenty of VERY famous people wa… Continue
So there it is. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has been released and I’ve already given my general impression of the film in a mildly drunken way in the video review. I didn’t feel, however, that the time restrictions that YouTube strictly enforce coupled with the fact that we were filming in a hotel lobby allowed me the time necessary to fully explain just where I think this film went wrong.
I’m going to try and do this as detached, unemotionally and as neutral as possible but that will b… Continue

As many of you know the technology we have in the film industry today is far superior to anything we have had in the past. No shit, Sherlock! But this has become a major disadvantage for the movies. So many movies focus on movies looking great, and don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with movies being injected with nothing but explosions, robots, pointless effects, etc. Some modern movies just simply throw the story out the window. Because of this movies nowadays lack. Big ti… Continue
Because I got a new job at a movie theater, I can go see a lot of movies for free. Unfortunately, I have to deal with my summer reading (which was suddenly assigned to me HALFWAY THROUGH SUMMER!!!!!!), so I don't have enough time to review the movies I see. So without further ado, I give you 4 quickie reviews. (Not that anyone really cares).
THE PROPOSAL
Very shallow and formulaic, but so very funny. What makes this work is the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. They're… Continue

There are a lot of people out there who hate Michael Bay. He has been accused of everything from destroying cinema (which he hasn't) to being a crass sell out who is more concerned with filming explosions than actors.(which is more accurate). Whatever he is there is one fact...there is no escaping his movies.
Now I don't hate Michael Bay. I know exactly what he is. He's that kid you played with when you were ten who only wanted to play one game and that game usually involved pretending to shoot… Continue

The Fallen has risen again, seeking revenge for... What was it again? Yes, the story is just that confusing. Why? Because Michael Bay spent absolutely no time trying to develop it smoothly, and put too much work into creating overwhelming fight sequences. This is what I understo… Continue
