Latest Short Film from 'Trick 'r Treat' Director Mike Dougherty Gets Us In the Halloween Spirit

If you aren’t familiar with Mike Dougherty and his incredible film 'Trick ‘r Treat', a tribute to the magic of Halloween, do not let this month end before you rectify that oversight. 'Trick ‘r Treat' is an anthology film in the tradition of (read every bit as good as) 'Creepshow'. Since 'Trick ‘r Treat' was unjustly shelved…

10 Best Horror Movie Masks

10. Satan Man - Satan's Little Helper (2004)

Now this isn't my favorite horror movie, but I must say when I first saw this mask it freaked me out a bit. What I really…

My favorite holiday has arrived: Halloween!

Boy oh boy do I LOVE this holiday! I look forward to it every year and start getting all giddy like a schoolgirl when September begins winding down. Even as a child, I preferred Halloween over Christmas. Television channels play horror movies round the clock, stores put horror movies on sale for dirty cheap (thank you Best Buy for taking all my money last week), and suddenly everyone around you is a horror fan. I have so much fun with Halloween. I even like the weather around this time. Chilly… Continue

Paranormal Activity (2009)

Don't go to sleep!

Paranormal Activity movie centers on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. The movie is presented through the camera set up by the couple to capture the paranormal activity.

Now with any mockumentary horror film, right from the get go you know there's going to be contrasts to The Blair Witch Project, and I can ultimately see why. The atmosphere is creepy, no… Continue

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY review

Lately, it seems like I have been reviewing horror movies more often than any genre. I wrote reviews on THE FINAL DESTINATION 3-D (which doesn't deserve any association with this genre of filmaking) and ZOMBIELAND (which did have some good tense scenes despite the fact that the movie is mainly a comedy). I didn't hear about PARANORMAL ACTIVITY until the day it was released and has carried on really well since it was released. This movie is a brilliant, non-stop tension, heart-pounding,… Continue

STAN HELSING TRAILER

Source: enewsi.com

The trailer for Stan Helsing has been released. It's another parody film (god) and is brought to you by one of the guys who made Scary Movie. It looks pretty bad, but I just thought I would show it.

Lose Weight with K-Mart Horror

First off,

This is not a spam sale offer. It is a quest to give fellow horror movie lovers info on where to get some of the greatest Horror movies of all time at a unholy ridiculously low price.

The 'Lose Weight' part of this message's title refers to people can spend their $5 bills to buy a classic horror DVD instead of the another burger and fries and pizza combo.

K-Mart is still around. K-Mart is celebrating Halloween this year by selling classic horror movie… Continue

"The Stalker" Student Movie

A word of warning: don't go out alone at night.

Hey guys,

I know I posted this sometime ago, but I thought I post this movie with vimeo.com, which has better quality. So this is a student film that I have directed. It's nearly two minutes long and I would like to thank you for taking the time to watch it. I hope you enjoy :).

The first part doesn't have audio, which was a technical difficulty.…

*Rant* Rise and Decline of the Horror Film Genre

(Note: Just to reiterate, this is just a rant, there are no flashy pictures or anything to hold your interests, I just had to say what I had to say as a movie watcher.)

What do I have to say about a genre I have all but given up watching movies from? The horror movie has been stripped of it's name, I am personally in favor of renaming it "bloody pulp" or "gibs galore". Where is the horror anymore? What kind of movie watching society have we devolved into that all we want in a "scary"… Continue

The Strangers (my first blog post here on Spill)

This is a blog I posted on another site I belong to back when the movie was in the theatres, I thought I would share it with the Spill community since it is so great here. Please leave your feedback, even if you do not agree with my thoughts.

The Strangers

I saw The Strangers over the weekend and I have to start out by saying this was a movie that truly prided itself on the build up of terror. Most of the "horror" movies that we have be inundated with lately have…
