Despite its unique tone and creepy visuals, The Passing is about as un-scary as a movie can be, and is often funny when it isn't trying to be. It sure doesn't help when the script is THIS bad and the actors clearly don't know how to fucking act.

Rating-Some ole' Bullsh*t!!
Poorly filmed, horribly acted, not scary, and almost unwatchable. Scary or die is the clear example of what horror anthologies should avoid being like. I love horror anthologies, so if I say that the film is boring then the film is fucking boring, and I'm quite forgiving of these types of movies. The only reason I'm not giving this film a "F**K YOU" is because it helped put me to sleep. Goddamn, how do you make a movie like this with blood,…

Intense First Trailer For 'S-VHS'
Around the Spillverse, we've talked a lot about last year's 'V/H/S.' It was a horror film that combined two separate subgenres, anthology and found footage, into something quite unique. It also featured a collaboration of some of the best up-and-coming talent in horror. The upcoming sequel, 'S-VHS' looks to be an augmentation of…

Gangster Squad Review
When someone says that there is a new crime film set in the '40s and '50s and it has people like Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte and plenty of other fantastic actors and actresses, you would expect it to either be Oscar caliber material or at the very least a very excellent crime drama…

Frighteningly Festive New 'Carrie' Poster
As we enter the most wonderful time of year, what better way to celebrate the joy and happiness of the season than with a new poster for Sony's remake of 'Carrie?' This latest poster for the movie, directed by Kimberly Peirce, isn't strikingly different from the last one, with …

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Review
Many people feared that this movie would be the equivalent of The Phantom Menace but for the younger generation of fans who grew up with The Lord of the Rings as their epic saga of nostalgia. While this film doesn't descend into such excruciatingly painful territory, the attempts at entertaining the children…

Three for Three: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Argo and Sinister Reviews
For once, the actual author of the story set out to make his version of the story on film the definitive one! Not only that but Chbosky manages to convince anyone that his version of the story and its characters in this film should be the only version to be made. It's one of those rare films that…

Hey little girl, where did you get that paint? How did you make the Sinisterly face? Why are you looking at me with pure evil in your heart?
It’s been a good long while since a horror film really got to me. Don’t get me wrong, The Cabin in the Woods was and still is an awesome movie, but it never really scared me (but it did make me laugh).…

Rating-Full Price!!
How often do we get a film that truly gets you to think about your religion, how often do we get a horror film that doesn't rely on gore for its scares. Well, that is the case with the Exorcism Of Emily Rose. Half of the movie takes place in a courtroom, where…

First Trailer For 'Sinister'
It's not often that a studio horror film carries with it a great deal of anticipation, but Summit's 'Sinister,' directed by Scott Derrickson, has a special meaning for us here at Spill. It was written by our very own Carlyle and, in this writer's opinion,…

Scary Movie has to be the single greatest idea in the history of cinema. Let's take a movie that was a self-aware comedy and make a self-aware comedy referencing it! Genius! Yeah, I don't know what brought this film to fruition but it sort of hurts my "there are no bad ideas" philosophy.
The movie is a parody of Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Matrix for some reason and a bunch of other movies from the…

Gomez Reviews The Grey
Warning! This review contains spoilers!
Greetings readers. I've decided I'm going to take a crack at written reviews instead of video ones. Reason being that the video reviews take quite a bit of time to create. Being a college student, I am not blessed with the gigantic amount of time that I used to have. Written reviews take considerably less time, and I can express myself more thoroughly through words rather than speaking, since my voice gets incredibly shaky while recording. So,…

Freaky Trailer for 'The Devil Inside'
To get you into the Halloween spirit, here's the first trailer for 'The Devil Inside,' a creepy exorcism movie...coming out in January? The trailer has flashes of that popular (read: overused at this point) "found footage" style, but there is enough content outside of that style to make me believe it won't actually be a found footage movie. Whatever it turns out to be, rest assured the images in this trailer…

UK Trailer for 'The Woman in Black' Starring Daniel Radcliffe
As a Hammer Studios nerd, and an unabashed Harry Potter fan, I am chomping at the bit to see 'The Woman in Black'. The film centers on a young lawyer (the boy wizard himself Daniel Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village to handle the sale of a deceased client’s house. Unfortunately, vengeful spirits reside in that house and are apparently Percy…
