Spider-man Pole

Just out of curiosity, do you people think Spectacular Spider-man is better than the 90's

cartoon and vice-versa. It seems that there is a war going on between the two fandoms

and I don't see why. If you do answer can you also write what you like/disliked

about the shows and what made one better.

'Screw you, Sony' - An intellectual rebuttle to the Spider-man reboot...

When I first read about Spider-man 4 being canceled, I was ecstatic. Not that I hated Raimi's version of the web-head (and it was a very good first try that led the way in how to create a great superhero movie - with respect and dedication), but it was just that it wasn't true to the heart and soul of what Spider-man is. Sure, it had the angst of Peter Parker, but Raimi did not bring the absolute exhilaration and freedom that Peter felt when becoming Spider-man - especially the "humor"… Continue

Reviews by Niall Daybreakers Edition

Upon seeing the trailer for the movire needless to say i was very excited to sit down and enjoy. but after hearing friends and co-workers reaction and comments on the film i was less enthused but as always the spill crew restored my hope in the movie. But i still did not get my hopes up to much but any way i finally went to see it and as i was told the movie had a strong opening wth little or no dialoge for the first several minutes which actually added to the expierance. but as the promising… Continue

Avatar: A real masterpiece

Avatar is the latest movie from James Cameron. It tells the story of Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, brought to another planet, Pandora, inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Cameron leaves the romantic stories to make what he knows best, an impressive sci-fi/fantasy movie. A combination of CGI and live action, Avatar is full of action and adventure with awesome special effects, a story the captivates and a plot that catches you from the very beginning. It… Continue

What sweet music they make: 'Daybreakers' Review

I was just as surprised as any to be legitimately excited for a vampire movie these days. After hearing the Spill crew recently lavish so much praise on this film from the Spierig Brothers, I was dying to see it. Korey and Cyrus aren't wrong, this is indeed a pretty creative and almost entirely unique idea (at least in film) - the stuffy vampire bosses in Blade touched upon the notion of a somewhat civil vampire society, but other than that, I can't think of anything else that comes… Continue

DAY BREAKERS: By Thadeus Brown

I was pretty pumped for this movie, specially after I saw the first trailer for it about 4 months ago. it had Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil witch is Mr. Allen Grant from Jurrasic Park, William Dafoe, and on top of that the trailer looked bad ass. Leading up to the hours of the movie, I was getting more exited about it. Day Breakers is even number 9 on my most anticipated movie of 2010. after seeing the movie did Day Breakers live up to my… Continue

My Review of "Avatar" and How Movies Will Never Be The Same

My over-excitement from walking out of the IMAX theater last night has calmed down enough for me to write this review. I usually only write movie critiques if I feel it would actually be worth my time. Not only do I feel this is worth my time, but I see it as an obligation. Last night, I took the liberty of driving 30 miles away from my home just because it was closest available IMAX theater that was showing James Cameron's "Avatar." I decided… Continue

My AVATAR review

Cameron's vision comes to fruition, December 2009

After over a decade since the film 'Titanic' became the highest grossing film of all time and placed itself in-between Ben-Hur & Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for the most academy awards ever won by a single film, James Cameron returns to bring the audience 'AVATAR' a film rumoured to be more expensive than any other film (if so it would be the third time Cameron has broken the record) and is claimed to be a… Continue

Last Year In Film: Frost/Nixon

I am an all round geek. A jack of all geek trades and a master of none and one of the facets that makes up that geek whole is political geekery. I first started to become interested in politics around the time that George W. Bush came to power as the president of the United States and so my interest has always been with American politics, which is far, far more interesting than our rather underwhelming British system, and in particular the dark, shadier side of the political… Continue
