Personal Favorite Trailers of 2010, the year we didn't make contact

10.

Devil

Not for the trailer itself and really just for the reactions it received. This got the funniest reactions from audiences I’ve ever heard. I couldn’t see this once in theater without a large portion of the audience groaning or laughing. I even heard one guy…

Zombies: The genre that should truly stay dead....

In the past 20 years what advancements have there been in terms of depicting Zombies in movies and television shows? That's right, they can now run. Just imagine the literary goldmine you can explore with that new addition to to the Undead genre! Now, you may think I'm intentionally coming off as an ass to stroke my own ego, and you're right, but shut up for a moment and actually think about the Zombie genre over… Continue

Astro Boy review by Madness Mark

‘They’re going to screw this up’. That is how I felt about western adaptations of anime. Heck, I still feel that way with movies like Dragonball Evolution enforcing that point. But then there are movies like Astro Boy which prove that studios can do something meaningful with a license without completely cow-towing to the fans or selling out to make a quick buck.

Astro Boy takes place in Metro City, a floating utopia above the wastelands… Continue

2001: A Space Odyssey - Review

2001: A Space Odyssey Review

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 96%

My rating: Some Ol’ Bulls**t!

I have never been one to buy into the whole classic thing. I don’t like films just because some critic says it is a legend in cinema.

So on to a film I don’t like.

When a four-million-year-old black monolith is discovered on the moon, the government sends a secret team of scientists in to investigate. Eighteen months… Continue

Terminator Salvation Review

Second blog review for Spill. Here we go.

Synopsis:

By now, we all know the story for this one. Set in 2018, John Connor is fighting against Skynet, while at the same time a death row inmate, Marcus Wright, who donated his body to science, wakes up to find how much the world has changed. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just leave it at that.

Review:

I'm a big fan of the first two Terminators, so I was excited… Continue

Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille is the Smallest Theme Park Character You Can Meet

If you are ever in Florida and decide to take a bite to eat at the French restaurant over at Epcot, you may be lucky enough to meet a more scale-appropriate Remy while dining in.

Disney has been trying to create what they are calling “living characters” to provide a more realistic touch to their character line up. This is their latest move in this goal, though I wouldn’t say that they are advancing the animatronics technology any further than they already… Continue

Adult Swim 2008 Year In Review

Frisky Dingo (Season 2.5)

The first half of this second season, the creators made a bold decision to turn the show into a documentary based around Killface and Xander Crews running for president. In the second half, they drop that whole bit and the rest of the season feels very much like the first (which is a good thing). There were so many character deaths towards the end of this season and most of them take you by surprise. In terms… Continue

BladeRunner, Galaxina and Cherry 2000 Are No Longer FICTION

Don't lie to me. Admit that ever since the first time you saw Pris in BladeRunner you've fantasized about what it would be like to have your own "pleasure model" replicant.

Oh, the possibilities! But alas, the technology hasn't been quite there.

"Le says his relationship with Aiko hasn’t strayed into the bedroom, but a few “tweaks” could turn her into a sexual partner.

Le said: “Her software could be redesigned to simulate her having an orgasm.”
