The Dark Knight Rises Movie Review (SPOILERS!!!)
THIS IS A SPOILER-FILLED REVIEW.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is a violent, aggressive, doom-ridden, thrill-ride of a movie... and yes, it's good, very good. Even a bit better than The Dark Knight. It's definitely a much more action packed, faster paced film than it's predecessor, that's for sure, and it really works in setting up the many other characters we now have to follow (along with giving some more valuable time with familiar characters along the way). The…

Ranking the Gotham Rogues: The Best and Worst of Christopher Nolan's Batman Villains
Of all the superheroes in all the world, Batman is one of the most iconic and legendary. Why is that? Is it his great fortune? His ultimate humanity? His unique symbol or quest for justice? Or is it partly the fact that he has spawned some of the greatest villains in all of modern literature, never minding their origins in comic book form? Yes, it is safe to say that Batman's rogues' gallery is arguably the greatest in all of comic books simply because each villain has a fascinating thing…

Summer Movie Season 2012
Well it’s Labor Day Weekend and the official end of the Summer movie season. And if ticket prices are any indication, this was a terrible year. We’ve had three high-profile supehero films and still ticket prices have been the lowest since ’97. I think it’s crystal clear now that ticket…

Why applying comic book continuity into superhero films is a terrible idea
(Note: originally published on my personal blog)
Continuity is a series of events tied together over a larger and ongoing narrative, plot, or theme. It lies at the heart of all geek media. Out of all the major forms of continuity out there, comic book…

Bane's Speech from "The Dark Knight Rises"...as done by Mark Hamill's Joker (Impression)
Thought I would share this; back when "The Dark Knight" came out, I got a lot of requests to do Ledger's lines in the voice of Mark Hamill's Joker from "Batman: The Animated Series". Obviously, The Joker was not in "The Dark Knight Rises", so I just made this for fun. I took a couple of liberties with the writing of the speech so it would fit The Joker better.

The Dark Knight Rises review...
When Christopher Nolan was developing Batman Begins, people scoffed at the very notion of rebooting a franchise. How would it work? Would people take to it, or naturally recoil from filmmakers walking over already well-worn ground? To most people's surprise back in…

The Colorado "Dark Knight Rises" Shooting
Upon hearing the news of twelve people, who were minding their own business, engaging in a past-time everyone shares, were shot and murdered by a deranged, cowardly and evil person, I can't help but think about the event and brought me upon expressing my thoughts on this blog post. Many many things sparked up from this event, many issues and expressions were brought up in many shape and ideals that either provoke or enlighten my thoughts and it got me writing.
What this...…

The Dark Knight Rises Review

In the third and final chapter of director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, we find Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, now a recluse. Batman has been absent and the streets of Gotham have been assumed clean thanks to the spirit of the late Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). But a new villain, Bane (Tom Hardy), has come to Gotham in the hopes of fulfilling the destiny of Ra's Al…

The Dark Knight Rises - (minimal spoilers)
I just came back from a trilogy showing/back to back of BB and TDK with a midnight release of TDKR. I posted a mini review just before, but I decided to go a little bit more in depth, so it could be more interesting. It is really hard to give a review without spoilers, so I've done my best to avoid any major ones. I haven't really done a blog post before, but here goes.
