I,Spy(2002) Review

Rating-Matinee'   I, Spy (Based on the tv show of the same name, which I have never seen) is the story of a special agent and a famous boxer who are forced to work together in order to recover a stolen stealth plane. The story is beyond stupid, and the dialogue is sort of a mixed bag. So why do I like this movie? It's sense of fun is why, which is because it moves at a "Fast but not too fast" pacing. There is always something comedic, action packed, or a little bit of…

"Warrior" looks and sounds like a type of film we've all seen before; except this time, it actually works.

"Warrior"

Director: Gavin O' Connor

Writers: Gavin O' Connor, Cliff Dorfman, and Anthony Tambakis

Stars: Tom Hardy (Inception, Bronson), Joel Edgerton (The Thing), and Nick Nolte (Affliction)

"Warrior" is the story of two brothers and their father, who's an ex-boxer and recovering alcoholic. When I say that, it sounds like a type of film we've all seen before; except this time, it actually works. Brendan Conlon, who is played by Joel…

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS

When Gil Pender seeks for some sort of insight on the subject of writing, Ernest Hemingway calmly replies with his steely eyes, “No subject is terrible if the story is true, if the prose is clean and honest, and if it affirms courage and grace under pressure.Midnight In Paris is a whimsical tale about…

Children of Men movie review - nkWhiteStar

Okay, so this is a very late time for me to see this film, it's almost been five years since its theatrical release. But after purchasing the Blu Ray and seeing it tonight, I feel it deserves a place in the Spill blogs, not just as a movie review, but to help those others who haven't seen it yet. So, to those who know of Children of Men, my apologies for the late…

Best First Films

To anyone who knows me well, there's nothing I enjoy more than being a film buff. If there is a film I enjoy, I research the hell out of it and learn all there is to know about it, as well as all those involved in it. Another thing is seeing more films by that filmmaker to see how they've grown throughout their careers. That can be a fun task in…

Marmaduke: For one strange reason I enjoy it

Marmaduke is the adaptation to movies of the cartoon of the same name. The story is about a suburban family moves to a new neighborhood with their large yet lovable Great Dane, who has a tendency to wreak havoc in his own oblivious way. Marmaduke is mainly intended for little kids, some adults may enjoy it others might feel like a… Continue

Top Ten Killers

Now, it's hard to classify what to call a "killer." One that kills, obviously. But some characters kill once but it's serious, some vow not to kill afterwords, some do it on accident. Some kill for good, some for evil. I hadn't a clue what to classify them as. So I'll explain for each one exactly why they're here. I had trouble, is the point. Without further ado, another list (it's been awhile):

10) Beatrix Kiddo, Kill Bill…

A Night at the Museum 2: It was good but it could be better

A Night at the Museum 2 was an okay movie, nothing out of this world but okay. First of all I think that the idea of the plot was very interesting but it seems that the writers didn't know how to developed it. The story seems a little predictable and in my opinion not very attractive. It has good action and adventure, the comedy part is very little but consistent and a plus is that it could be kinda educative because it shows you part of history people may not knew. The special effects and CGI… Continue

Leon Reviews "MARLEY & ME (Three-Disc Bad Dog Edition)" [Blu-ray]

If you only saw the trailers for Marley & Me you’re likely thinking it’s another screwball comedy about a monstrous, out of control dog like Marmaduke or Beethoven.

…but you’d be barking up the wrong tree. Wakka! Wakka!…
