sammy thoughts on oldish films that you forget about constantly

the other day the film Minority Report was on and i forgot all about and I looked it up and saw it had a 92% on rottentomatoes and i was and wasnt shocked. Like i never knew tom cruise could be in an "amazing" movie, but it was nice seeing how it was a pretty good film noir movie for this day and age. I love some aspects of it, but then hated some aspects like the comic relief and some parts in it. ultimately it was a good but not epic spielberg film. Oh and if you're thinking of seeing this and… Continue

Ito My Judd Apatow Experience

Judd Apatow is on the top of the world right now, and tomorrow his new film Funny People comes out, and I can't wait to be first in line. So to get ready to watch the film, I'm having a little Apatow Marthon at my house. This guy has made some of my favorite movies, and some of the memorable characters in movies. I'm not going to deep into his career, like Freaks & Geeks(Witch I still haven't watched), or anything like that, I'm going to talk about my experiences I've had at the movies, waat… Continue

DavidBray What's New Pussycat (1965) - Review

What’s New Pussycat? Review Rotten Tomatoes rating: 50% My rating: Full Price!!

I should probably start out by stating that this was a film thrust on me by my father at an early age and was replayed nearly every year until I was fourteen, when I naturally stopped hanging around with them. This sort of aeroliminal dis… Continue

Walter Ego New movies vs. old movies

Does anyone ever get tired of all the push of new movies, but very few are satisfying? After watching a lot of newer and fresh movies it sometimes feels like it's hard to find a lot of good ideas and creativity, I often find myself looking for old movies which many times satisfy even more. Even back to the days of silent is sometimes refreshing. Just wondering if I am the only one that feels this way. Continue

Zgamer Top 10 Trailers and 10 Honorable Mentions from E3 2009

A little late to be sure, but I figured there's no better time than now. E3 2009 unveiled A LOT of great games to us and quite a few great trailers. I myself am a huge fan of trailers for games and movies since I find it an art form unto itself. With the right trailer, you can either build up just the right hype to make people curious enough to want the product or completely cement the fact your product will be awesome. Some trailers don't always work (especially when they tell you too much abou… Continue

C.H. Gorog Up review with C.H. Gorog...

Alright, Pixar, you win. From now on, I won't even ask the name of your next project. Seriously, I'm just going to hand over my money and enjoy every second of the show. The Toy Story movies, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and Ratatouille are perhaps at the top of my favorite family movies, I say family instead of children because these movies are made for everyone; there isn't a single person who couldn't derive some form of enjoy… Continue

Leon Leon Presents a Preview of STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC

Are you ready for Star Wars to be cool again? I sure wasn't.

I know that majority of you are film geeks, indie hipsters, artfags and cinema snobs... Basically people who loves movies but couldn’t care less about the truly geekier side of things. Y’know. Comic books, tele… Continue

pedro George Lucas, you should be ashamed of yourself

Now I'm not one of those people who loath the Star Wars prequels. They weren't great, but I still enjoyed them and had fun with them, despite all the things wrong with them. To be honest I didn't care about the story, I just wanted to see some bad ass jedi action. But recently I saw a trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic which is being made by Bioware(the guys responsible for Knights of the Old Republic). And after watching the trailer, I just have one thiing to say: George Lucas, you sir sh… Continue

Leon Companion to LEOG #7 vol.2

It was a Herculean task, for sure- assembling all the elements, calling in lots of favors, ponying up plenty of $$$ for all the booze- but our fans badgered asked us to do a show about videogames and damn if we didn’t nearly kill ourselves to do just that! Of course, with such a broad subject we couldn’t make a show that was all things to all people, but with all the guest-stars and insider talk, I thought we did a pretty good job of bringing it. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the EPIC… Continue

Insomnia Boy Some Of Lawrence's Some Old Bullshit Movies

Spiderman 3 In my opinion this is the worst superheroe movie ever. I say that this superhero movie is the worst as opposed to other stupid superheroe movies like Batman and Robin, and Fantastic 4 one and 2 is that this film takes it's self serriously and puts one of my favorite director Sam Raimi to shame. Where exactly do I think that this film went wrong though? One of the resons was the same reson that many, myself included have lost face in Heroes, too many characters, and not enough backsto… Continue

thejon93rd 'The 40 Year-Old Virgin' Movie Review

'The 40 Year-Old Virgin' Red-Band Theatrical Trailer: This movie(so far) has the title for "Best Comedy I've Ever Seen". This movie is just full-blown entertainment for an audience looking for more from their ordinary/generic comedies, where one joke will create the story/characters. And, for sure, it's the same thing here. But it's really easy in telling that the screenwriters actually took their time into making sure that they had a main character whom you wouldn't di… Continue

Zgamer Remember when Cartoon Network used to be good?

Let's just get this out by saying I'm a child of the 90's. I grew up during the rise of the Internet and the revolution of Saturday morning cartoons, so maybe I'm a little stubborn in my opinions on this. Honestly though, I think Cartoon Network has really gone down hill since the "new" channel they introduced around 2006. With the exception of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Kids Next Door, all of the new shows either stink, try to hard, are uninspired or are just not funny. I still rem… Continue

MdU Five of the Most Ridiculous Fight Scenes Ever

As found on YouTube In no particular order... 1. Undefeatable (1993) As I was riding the wave of video to video on Youtube, I found one particular segment that was listed as, "THE GREATEST MOVIE FIGHT EVAR!!!11!" and simultaneously as, "THE WORST MOVIE FIGHT EVAR!!!11!" Mike Old Boy Review

Movie: Oldboy (2005) "Very good but very f*cked up." That's what everyone told me, and everyone was right. Think: Star Wars meets Eternal Sunshine meets Kill Bill meets greek tragedy and you're half way to "Old Boy." Old boy is a new twist on the classic revenge story. In contrast to all the Japanese movies I've been watching lately, I felt the Korean, Old Boy, was a very clean cut way to present a complex plot. For something so complex, the mysteries of the plot are unfolded in an understand… Continue

Gabriel The Top Five Comedies of the Last Decade

I have a big sense of humor, but when it comes to movies it can be quite difficult to make me laugh. Films usually resort to countless cliches just to get a chuckle or grin out of the audience. Several comedies that are considered 'classics' are pretty much oldies, films that were typically released before the mid-nineties. So for this list, I decided to look at films that were released within the last ten years. These films are modern, but are still as funny as other comedy classics we know and… Continue

TheEverydayMoviegoer Second Chance Movie Review: Eagle Eye

I can already hear the sound of the Spill.com community resonating in my ears! "You're reviewing that OLD movie?" "That Shia kid is in it!" "Doesn't he have the most adorable mustache?" "Isn't he from Even Stevens?" "Aren't we going off topic?" "I think we are, sorry" "That's alright, we can still be friends" "Yay!" "Hey, look at this review! It's such an old movie! "LETS KILL HIM!!" Before you guys crucify me virtually via the comments board, I know this movie has been in theaters for a long… Continue
