The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen, Volume 3 Issue 12: Thanksgiving and Books without Pictures
The League gives thanks for a good year and talks about our favorite novels and writers. And yes, it does occasionally degrade into comics talk. We can't help ourselves.
I do love it when a film puts it's own sell by date in the title.
Now, when it comes to film like this, you have to go with the right state of mind, which is no mind. This film is just a cool movie to see on the big screen. Nothing more, nothing less.
And then it still manages to question the plausibility of the film. We are talking tight rope walking dogs here.
But to the review,… Continue
Damn, dude. I thought all the reviews for this game on the big websites were payed off by Activision or something, because it's getting the most amazing reviews! Well, I went out and bought it... they were definitely not payed off. This game kicks ass.
Let's start with the good aspects: It has the best single-player campaign I've ever played. (Of course, I haven't played Uncharted 2 yet...) There are moments in here that look like they'd be well suited for a movie, and a badass one at that. It'… Continue

Less like Michael Jackson, more like Michael Christ.
This film is a hard film to review, as it's not a film, it tries to be, it has a tibit of a story that runs though it, but it is just Rehearsal Footage, and it really kicks ass.
As the film starts I thought I was going to hate it, it starts of like Cloverfield, some young dancers are telling us the only reason they are there, this c… Continue

Come on, any film with the word goat in the title is at least worth a rental.
The Men who Stare at Goats is a confused movie, it wants to be edgy yet it wants to be lighthearted, so what do you get, a funny, intresting film, with it's heart in the right place, but not smart enough to pull it off.
The film starts of saying, "trust us, much more of this story is true than you woul… Continue

My apoligize, this review may be a bit baised as I haven't seen the first 8 films.
This year, childrens films have suddenly turned adultirated, we had Fantastic Mr.Fox with it's humor abit to played to the adults, we had A Christmas Carol scaring the crap out of the youth, We had Where the Wild Things are gearing up children to be Criterion DVD collectors, UP which had a story about c… Continue

Christmas never came so early, Literally it's about 2 months away.
This story is known by so many, and has been adapted, retold and reimagined so many times, what could this possible offer that is worth watching again.
Well if anything, it's absolutly terrifiying, exspecially for a childrens film. It does a great job of creating really effective automosphere, and… Continue

The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen, Volume 3 Issue 11: Questions Catch-Up, Upcoming Comics, Comic Movie News
We try something a little different this week, talking about current news stories about comic movies and comics on the horizon as well as digging ALL THE WAY BACK to the questions from Issue 6 to answer some of the good ones we missed. Check it:
We all know about The Wizard of Oz and The Dark Side of the Moon but what about other soundtrack Synchronization to a movie like The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Well I did do that by listening to the Der Ring Des Nibelungen Opera Ring Cycle by Richard Wagner even though Professor Tolkien would roll over his grave if he heard I synch the music up with the films because he hated that Opera, but it felt right for the Norse and Celtic mood of the story.

As the year is passing, we are getting close the films we are dying to see. Primarily Kick-Ass, Clash of the Titans is a remake of a classic, but it does look exciting, and yet Leterrier continuous crafty to rip-off God of War. A video-game about a warrior that challenges the Gods of Mount Olympus and fights numerous Greek Monster Mythos. Never the less, I am convinced that Clash of the Titans will deliver, as a action-pack turn off your brain popcorn flick, nothing more.
Anyways, enjoy… Continue
Yeah, it's out
Anyways, looks kinda interesting. The music is a lil strange though (Ancient Greek setting with heavy rock in the background). Visually, it looks cool. No story details yet or acting chops are shown. But the film to me has potential. What do you guys think? Continue

The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen, Volume 3 Issue 10: A Halloween Apology and League Lounge Live
Yeah, so, we did indeed lose the Halloween party LEOG but from what little is preserved (thrown into this podcast for good measure) you can probably tell that we were already at that too-drunk-to-be-doing-this-anyway point. Regardless, this week we took questions from the chat in the League Lounge from live users and managed to answer more of your questions than usual. Check it:… Continue
With the somewhat downbeat stories of Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned, it's nice to see Rockstar opt for a lighter-toned (although not by much given that this is still a GTA IV game) installment to cap off the GTA IV downloadable episodic content with a celebration of explosions and wackos.
Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony… Continue
PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME
I rather see all Persians die by the hands of a Spartan...fucking assholes
Well...I don't know about you guys but I wanna see it. Jerry Bruckheimer has made some great movies and the producer are the same from "Pirates of the Carribean" which I think almost everyone enjoyed. I'm looking forward to it because of that but if you look at it fro… Continue
