Twackius Last Year In Film: The Hottie And The Nottie

I can’t think of many films that have actually made feel physically ill. I can watch the most horrific scenes of gore-laden violence and not feel sick. There are times however that something pushes me over the edge and makes me feel a little bit woozy. One scene that sticks out in particular is the scene in The Fly when Jeff Goldblum is pulling out his finger nails. There, I just dry heaved whilst thinking and writing about it. Thankfully it’s just one scene. The problem is, you see, I have a ma… Continue

Mike M. Michael Moore: Agent of the Right (Wing)

The problem with Michael Moore, is that he tries to pass himself off as Liberal. This is unfortunate, because if he truly was one, he’d either shut his mouth, or take some more time to explain his reasoning. For the few that don’t know, Michael Moore is one of the most famous… Continue

jarlabrelk CTRL - ALT - COMMIT: The Undiscovered Country

No cast, no crew, no money; just a script that took 3 years to finish and dogged determination to get out of this shit-hole town. *FLICKS THROUGH SCRIPT* So? FEELS FAMILIAR Well, if you grew up on a steady diet of repeats that included Air Wolf, Knightrider, A-Team, Star Trek, Police Squad coupled with multiple viewings of The Naked Gun, Grosse Pointe Blank, Die Hard, Office Space AND heavily read Viking Mythology and Aesops' fables cover to cover, you'd understand. Twackius Review: Watchmen

Read a review once: Man goes to movie. Movie is Batman and Robin. Makes him depressed. Makes life seem harsh and cruel. Makes him feel alone in neon world where what lies ahead is bat-nipples and ice puns. Reviewer said “Treatment is simple. Great film Watchmen is in town tonight. Go and see it. That should pick you up.” Man looks confused. Says “But, reviewer… Who watches the Watchmen?” Bad joke. Everybody boo. Throw fruit on stage. Curtains. I went into this film ready to hate it. I went ther… Continue

C.H. Gorog Gorog's Watchmen review...

Maybe there's something wrong with me. I don't see Alan Moore's famous novel Watchmen as an absolute flawless form of storytelling through comics/graphic novels/whatever you call that large stack of printed material you have in the corner of your room. Perhaps novelty hasn't infected me yet when I see the pages of the most revered piece of geek literature around (next to Up Till Now: The Autobiography and the script of the unaired episode of Beast Wars, of course). You've already… Continue

Zack My Review of Watchmen

I went to go see Watchmen on opening night, and so here is my review of one of the most anticipated movies of the year...that will more than likely be forgotten by mid-June. Because while I really dug it, a lot of others didn't. And the fact that this is the first real super hero movie since the masterpiece that is The Dark Knight (fuck The Spirit) makes it seem even wors… Continue

Jordan Cobb Watchmen review.

Hey guys. You all know who I am. You know I am a film buff and for the past four years a critic and a huge comic book geek and big Watchmen fan so I figure since many of you who know me here on Spill.com know that I'm writing published reviews for the communtiy college paper I write for right now at the community college I am attending right now. So I figure since you all can't see what will be published, I thought I'll post what I wrote for the paper and post here on Spill for my review. So her… Continue

QbanKnight Watchmen: The End is Nigh - Rorschach Trailer

On Wednesday, March 4th, people who are getting themselves psyched for the Watchmen film on Friday can download Watchmen: The End is Nigh on Xbox 360 and PC (PS3 version is released the next day). Below is the latest trailer: Yeah...I don't have much hope for this. Especially when somehow Rorschach can get a strength boost when he yells like Braveheart to beat up a bunch of thugs. Oh well, this gives Alan Moore another reason to curse the world to hell. Continue

QbanKnight Reviewing the Watchmen

In one week, fans of Alan Moore's opus will finally be able to watch the adaptation of the graphic novel, a process that has taken over two decades. Yet, with preliminary reviews coming out, the consensus is so far very mixed. Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter claims "we have the first real flop of 2009". On the other hand, Ian Nathan of… Continue

Jason Rodriquez Watchmen Screenwriters Discuss Adapting the Novel

Photobucket Alex Tse wrote the final draft of the Watchmen screenplay, but he doesn't have as much to say about it as previous writer David Hayter. Perhaps he's just modest. Even so, Tse chimed in as Hayter discussed the long development to finally bring Watchmen… Continue

Christian Alvarez Alan Moore makes fun of Frank Miller's Daredevil

Now this doesn't directly reference, Frank Miller, but it has a lot of elements of his Daredevil. In 1983 when comics were getting darker, I am guessing Alan Moore thought Daredevil was being gritty for the sake of being gritty. Now enjoy Alan Moore's Grit.

Axel My rant on Watchmen

The Watchmen graphic novel is very hard to come by where I live. After weeks of searching book stores I ordered it online. I only just finished reading it and I must say, it is one of the most amazing things I have ever read. At that point in time. Whatmen was my most anticipated movie of 2009 and now that I have read the novel, my views on whether or not i'm looking foreward to this haven't changed. Now in this blog I won't talk about the lawsuits delivered by Fox. I will only talk about the fi… Continue
