I must admit, I was one of the most excited people in the world about this movie. The trailer was absolutely fantastic, (You know, the one with Arcade Fire's Wake Up in the background?) and it looked like the movie might even get on some Top Ten Lists at the end of the year.
And the final product will still end up on a few lists, but not universally, and not for for t… Continue

The Informant is the tale of Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon), an Ivy League Ph.D. who was a rising star at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in the early 1990s. The bipolar hero wound up blowing the whistle on the company's price fixing tactics and became the highest-ranked executive to ever turn whistlebl… Continue
Most people enjoy video games. I know I do. Since I got my XBOX 360, I've been devoting a great deal of my time to HALO 3 on XBOX LIVE, time that I should be spending being more social. But in this dark and disturbing vision of the future, the world of online gaming pretty much destroys our moral judgement. I was going to play HALO 3 after I saw this movie and I don't think I want to play video games for a week.
This is Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor's third film together, their first two be… Continue
The Happening is a stupid, stupid movie. I don’t think anyone can deny that. In fact, it may just be the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen Snakes on a Plane and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. It plumbs the depths of dumb in ways that few films have ever done before and for that, the M. Night Shyamalan deserves some credit. A few days before reviews for the film were posted online, M. Night said that The Happening was intended to be a B-Movie and I can’t help but call bullshit. If it wa… Continue

El Loco Lobo's Videogame Review-O
How many of us are old enough (albeit unfortunate enough) to remember playing the movie-based superhero movies of the Super Nintendo? I recall my first Batman game, and possibly my first superhero game ever, to be the video game adaption of Batman Returns.
Jilted slightly by the side-scroller as I could never find a way out of various linear, forward-marching levels, I stayed out of the batman franchise for quite awhile until eventually rent… Continue

Thank the lord for a good Batman game. Finally, my dreams have come true.
This is, by far, the greatest comic book game ever made.
Forget about Spider-Man 2. Sure, it was great, but this game is leaps and bounds ahead of anything before it. The creativity in this game is so amazing and... okay, onto the first paragraph with the good stuff.
Batman: AA, is a beautiful, beautiful game. The textures are amazing, and no detail is spared in the amazing environments. What's amazing is that this game… Continue

While cruising through iTunes, I found this fantastic little trailer for Scorsese's new film, Shutter Island.
It seems to be an intense thriller/horror hybrid that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley. I've never seen Mr. Scorsese tackle something like this before. Here's hoping it's successful as his other films.
Summary:
In 1954, two U.S. marshals investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on an island in Massachu… Continue

The Zombie genre of movies is dead, was reanimated, and subsequently shot in the head with a .44 caliber bullet. Hear me out.
I've just concluded a viewing of "Dead Set," A BBC miniseries about another zombie outbreak in the UK during an episode of Big Brother and the trials of the cast of the show after the standard Apocalypse. Culture satirist and star of Screenwipes Charlie Brooker wrote this series, and I assure you if you've never seen Screenwipes, you need to get some Youtubes and watch t… Continue
Seeing as oh so many of you love the Batman, those of you in this group who also happen to own a Xbox 360, PS3, or high-powered PC may be interested in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game. It is set entirely in a separate mythos (unrelated to the shows, movies, comics) where Batman is personally escorting the Joker to his happy hotel on Arkham island. Of course things go completely wrong with the Joker escaping and releasing EVERY SINGLE inmate in Arkham out. Batman will thus engage in some… Continue
Having come off a marathon viewing session of The Dark Knight, I can never watch Burtons batman films ever again without crapping my pants with laughter at how terribly, vomit inducing, kitten stompingly bad those films are. My only criticism of The Dark Knight is aspect ratio switching is more distracting on… Continue

IGN is reporting that the baddie in the new Sherlock Holmes flick is going to be British thesp Mark Strong. The actor has been in previous Guy Ritchie films such as RocknRolla and Revolver, which I bought for $3.99 from Best Buy on Black Friday. It was actually pretty good.
Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Holmes and Jude Law will be filling the shoes of his… Continue
