NOTE
Everyone on Spill.com get an Amazon Wish List. Doesn't matter if you no one knows you or you don't have friends.
Get one. Don't do it to get gifts. Do it because you can.
I couldn't find out on Amazon.com where I can get a real Amazon.com wish list button like all the Spill.com Crew has.
I can only share my Amazon.com wish list by emailing the link. Spill.com might have a business deal with Amazon.com. If I'm wrong, let everyone know.
Here are the steps you take to get your… Continue

Since I hear the word "epic" so much, especially when talking about movies, I have thought of a list of movies that I believe actually are Epic.
Here are my guidelines that I followed: 1) It has to be a movie, but I think a few mini-series can classify as movies. 2) The movie has to take place over a period of years, or the story has to be very rich and grand. 3) As long as the story continues, I view sequels as part of an epic.
I hope you enjoy my list.

While it isn't my favourite film from Russ Meyer (that would be either "Vixen" or "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"), it is the most representative of his oeuvre. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it is the quintessential drive-in film. It has everything a good… Continue
Well, I decided it’s time for something a bit different today. I just can’t be bothered to watch a movie today, especially considering Battlestar Galactica Season 1 just came through the door. Awesome. So, while I work my way through that I’ve decided to do something which ties into movies tangentially, because most of them are about movies. Yes, podcasts have revolutionised the way I, at least, entertain myself. It’s because of them, perhaps, that I need to be entertained at all times. If nothi… Continue
If there’s one thing I’ve come to realise over the years it’s that I’m a fucking pussy when it comes to even the slightest bit of emotion in a film, especially in recent years. I dunno what it is but the slightest sad thing happens and I’m blubbering like a bitch. In that spirit then is this, a list of my top 10 films guaranteed to make me cry. Warning: this list will contain spoilers and where available I’ve tried to show the scenes in question in video form.
10: Toy Story
Perhaps an odd choi… Continue

The economy is in the toilet. There’s no two ways about it. Some analysts are predicting a full blown depression could occur within the year. People are losing their jobs, their homes and everything they have. In every other country in the world, the response would be soup lines, and government rations, and rent subsidies. Why don’t you see too many of those here?
This is America! We fix the economy by blowing what little money we have on the most retarded things we can find. Jocks blow money o… Continue
Now I'm one who isn't a greatest fan of Romantic Comedies but I do appreciate a good romantic story if it is well made and has a great script. 2008 was a very mixed year for romance on the silver screen but with any genre you take the good with the very bad...

Evening, children. 2008 is over and what a year that was. Well, for movies anyway. Studios started doing comic book movies right, 3D was continuing on its comeback, and the slew of remakes. 2008 was a year for geeks to drool in delight as their favorite franchises hit the big screen, often with success. Not only did the supernerds like myself walk out of movies with big dopey smiles on our faces, but the film snobs (a category I also fall under) were given some great films just in time for Oscar… Continue

This weekend I ran into a friend who remarked that THE SPIRIT was the worst comic book movie ever made. I instantly asked him (not having seen it yet) "Have you seen Elektra?" "No." "The 1990 Captain America?" "No." "Steel?" "Is that the one with Shaq?" "Yes." "Then No." Okay, so maybe it ISN'T the worst comic book movie ever made (I mean, how in the #*$% on a flying saucer could it be worse than BATMAN and ROBIN?) But it got me talking to some friends. What ARE the w… Continue
