I can’t think of many films that have actually made feel physically ill. I can watch the most horrific scenes of gore-laden violence and not feel sick. There are times however that something pushes me over the edge and makes me feel a little bit woozy. One scene that sticks out in particular is the scene in The Fly when Jeff Goldblum is pulling out his finger nails. There, I just dry heaved whilst thinking and writing about it. Thankfully it’s just one scene. The problem is, you see, I have a ma… Continue

Okay, I just got hit with a metaphorical shit-storm of TLA Info. Actually it's not that much but it is pretty exciting stuff, so here it is:
1. The artist of the Last Airbender prequel manga has put out a sketch of her idea for the style of the comic. Here is what she let out, see what you think of the style yourself:

I watched these films before I even saw the anime they were based off, and I loved them. I thought they were brilliantly filmed, acted out and played out. Now that I have seen the anime, I have more of an appreciation of the films as they seem like a perfect transition to th… Continue
Today sees the beginning of a new recurring segment on Cinepub, Last Year In Film. The concept is fairly simple, watching and reviewing all the Oscar and Razzie nominated films of 2008. And I do mean all of them. It’s going to be a massive undertaking and I hope that I can manage to pull it off before the end of the year. With that in mind let’s begin with the backwards-aging, Gumpesque saga known as The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate… Continue

Out of all the American animation that ever existed, Avatar: The Last Airbender is my favorite. For me, as far as originality and action go, it rivals Japanese animation, simply referred to as anime.
The story follows the adventures of two people, Sokka and Katara, after they unknowingly free a 12 year old boy named Aang, whom they find out later is the Avatar, an entity whose job is to keep the world peaceful and balanced between the four nations of Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. The Avatar is re… Continue

Hey, guys. With not too much information circulating about the Last Airbender movie in the last week or so, I thought I'd put a post up concerning rumors about what is being left out of the movie(s) and what should be, in my humble opinion.
Firstly, I have encoun… Continue
This trailer looks amazing. I knew about this movie being made, I had no idea it'd be targeting American audiences though. That's a good or a bad thing, but it usually means higher budget, which shows in this trailer. Even though the animated version of this was very short, it had a great style and suspense. I really hope this movie can live up to that.

This is the one for Blood the Last Vampire.
This looks like dumb fun, but it also doesn't look like the anime that much.
Thanks again to Manny S. for the embedding tip.

A little late to be sure, but I figured there's no better time than now. E3 2009 unveiled A LOT of great games to us and quite a few great trailers. I myself am a huge fan of trailers for games and movies since I find it an art form unto itself. With the right trailer, you can either build up just the right hype to make people curious enough to want the product or completely cement the fact your product will be awesome. Some trailers don't always work (especially when they tell you too much abou… Continue

So in a random set of circumstances....watching "The Dead Zone," did some piddling around the internet for stuff on Anthony Michael Hall...went to the Dark Knight IMDB.com board and saw a bunch of random posts about the "Avatar" movie (the James Cameron one.) Foolishly thinking it was about the Nickelodeon ca… Continue
Ok, Next week is the opening of the remake of the 1974 horror classic, The Last House on the Left. The question is will it be good? Well remakes don't always turn out great or perfect, they usually just kill the movie's legacy, but there is something different about about Th… Continue
Now in its 71st year, Batman has captivated and wowed audiences of all ages. Simple as that, it's one of the great comics, maybe the most compelling of heroes, and Christopher Nolan's film is another excellent piece of the legacy.
Here's to it!

Matt, Jack & Jon are three eloquent young gents. They philosophize, externalize, and harmonize on the most pressing subjects of the modern age. Actually, they mostly just talk about movies and current events, but the presentation is what counts.
This is the debut production of JackandZack Films. It's a comedy about a legendary cult-film director, Jack Gattanella, who is making his latest film "Crest of Senses", and taking his two stars Zack and Hayley down into the depths of madness.
