Over the last few days I saw both The X-Files: I Want to Believe and The Dark Knight (for the second time.) As I only have the motivation to speak about one film I have decided to give my thoughts on The Dark Knight as X-Files is nowhere near as popular, however I will share some brief thoughts on it.
Apparently this X-Files movie can be enjoyed as a standalone project which I for one am grateful as I never took an… Continue

Well, SPILL intern Jared posted a blog offering some ideas for translating Batman villains realistically into film, should Christopher Nolan make another Batman sequel (remember guys, he hasn't said for sure that he's even doing another one). It was a pretty cool list, I just thought it could use a few more entries. So here is my continuation of Jared's Bat-villian list:
Ok heres a question that has caused much debate amoung my friends and family. Tell me what u guys think. If there was a western where john wayne and clint eastwood were to fight who would win, and how would they win? I've asked Korey, Carlyle, and Leon they all say eastwood with a passion. I'm in the process of askin co-host and Cyrus to see what they think. I also hav to say eastwood. if u want proof watch good bad and the ugly, and fist full of dollars. What do u guys think?…
I just wanted to take this time to tell you all what great time I’ve had being a part of Spill and getting to interact with you all. I’m very confident in you as the stewards of this site and I know you’ll make it big someday.
As you may have heard, I am leaving and this will be my last post…*sigh*
Christian Bale has been arrested for supposedly assualting his mom and sister a day before The Dark Knights premiere. Now I think he didnt do it because if it was a week ago I think they would have arrested him LAST week.

Man, I'm sure that someone has already commented on this by this by now. I wouldn't know since I don't follow entertainment news, but the dark quality of the new Batman movie, Dark Knight, along with the Jokers new look, and Heath Ledgers untimely death reminded me a lot of Brandon Lee. I can practically hear STP singing "The Big Empty" as I write this. They both died accidental deaths at the age of 28 after after playing similar looking characters. It's crazy and…
I just saw Dark Knight. It was so wonderful, that I think I entered my manic state prematurely. *giggles*
If Heath Ledger doesn't get an Oscar for his performance as the Joker, then the Academy is out of their minds. There was only one second where I was reminded that there existed an actor under that clownface make-up. The brokeback reference. "You complete me." That was a brokeback reference, right?
Heck, the Academy has to stop discriminating against comic book movies.… Continue

Yes, it's finally here. The long awaited Dark Knight.
I'm guessing by now many of you have already seen it and most have probably fallen in love with it. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I'll give a little intel. It's directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne (Batman of course), Heath Ledger as the Joker, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent (Two Face), and another addition by Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel… Continue
Let me answer for you. Of course you did - and yes, I can generalize that everyone reading these words enjoyed this cartoon of a movie that has somehow duped everyone into thinking it is a masterpiece of high art. Otherwise, if you are intelligent enough to see past this facade then you wouldn't be perusing this website that makes a mockery of film criticism and film itself. Yes SPILL.COM, I'm speaking of you.

Well, it did it - and we're not really surprised. Warner Bros. has estimated that The Dark Knight has taken in $155.4 million in it's opening weekend; beating the previous winner, Spider-Man 3, which earned $151.1 million.

Well those of us who have seen it multiple times are well aware that this is indeed the case (with the possible exception of Seven Samurai and The Godfather IMHO), it now seems that everyone else also thinks THE DARK KNIGHT is possibly the greatest film to have ever been made.

After the phenomenal success of 2005's Batman Begins, everyone thought topping that masterpiece was impossible. But director Christopher Nolan set out to prove them wrong with the much anticipated sequel The Dark Knight. And he has outdone himself beyond all imagining. The basic… Continue
Well, no surprises here. The Dark Knight grossed an estimated $18.5 million during it's midnight viewings last night. This does NOT include the 3am and 6am showings.
The previous midnight record set by "Star Wars, Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith" grossed $16.9 million
During the period between Batman & Robin and Batman Begins, there was actual talk about adapting Batman...into a musical.
Here's a brief description from the offical website, http://www.freewebs.com/batman_themusical/home.htm
Jim Steinman was tapped to compose, alongside David Ives who would write the book ("the spoken parts"). The World Premiere was announced for Broadway 2001 but did not…Continue
