A Christmas Carol is the latest version of the already known story written by Charles Dickens. It is an spectacular feast for the viewer because it is its 3D format. The special effects are awesome. The story is good but I think that with the intention of focusing in the 3D and the CGI the left the plot a little sloppy. The rhythm is a little slow and it has some pointless scenes that it will not matter if they wen't in the movie. The cast is excellent. It includes voices of great actors such as…

Hello there, I’m Jamie and it’s time to watch films that are really not made for me, to increase my film knowledge and make me a better person. After all if you want to improve yourself then sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone.
So let’s begin with Bridget Jones’s Diary, a film with no aliens or giant sharks and very, very few zombies… Nope scratch that, no zombies at all. To top it all off it’s lead actress is someone whose name on a film poster is generally a sign that I’ll not be wa…

Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old…

It was at a screening at work at amc. The movie was enjoyable and a fun ride. Jim Carey played a great Scrooge and Gary Oldman was just as good as Bob Crachit. The 3d effects were great. It surpassed my expectations, for I thought they were going to make a mindless thrill ride, when they actually told dickens' story very well, with each ghost being creepy. The spirit of Christmas is put to full effect. My only complaint is that I still have a hard time deciding on whether Iike the animation or n…

(If you haven't heard about this con, you're not the only one)
I've found out about Long Beach Comic-Con by a sheer chance. I just typed in 'Comic-Con' and one of the result that came up was Long Beach Comic-Con. Seeing as how I live not far off of LBCC, I got Deb. Vic, and Jared to go with me to this firs…

Thanks to my good friend Jessica, she turned me onto a trailer for this movie. But I won't ramble on like most times I do these things.
So, in this film a Marine who has been on duty for four tours in Iraq/Afghanistan Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) goes missing, most people including his family back home a…

Who doesn't love the Fraggles? You know, those little Muppets that lived under a workshop that belonged to an old man and his dog? Yeah, those are the ones!

According to the offical wiki for Muppet news, the movie has been in the works since 2005. During 2006, Brian Henson, Jim Henson's son and in charge of his late father's company, said, "Yes, we are making a Fraggle Rock mo…

Returning once again to the world of J.K. Rowling, my expectations were pretty high about this movie for two reasons. Firstly, I had seen the trailers and they were nothing short of amazing. Seriously, all you need to see is an old man with a foot long stick waving it around and creating a ginormous wall of fire to get me to want to see the movie. The other reason was because I had real…

I wanted to throw up the question - What do you think of the movie The Cable Guy staring Jim Carry?
I was kinda young when this came out but it has stood the test and remained my favorite movie over all these years. This may be because of an adolescent nostalgia I had with it when I first saw the movie but, I still think the reason it was poorly received is because it was a little ahead of its time in the dark comedy genera.
People have always raised eyebrows when I tell them my favorite movie…

When music artists need a boost in their carrers, they usually resort to covering another artist's songs (e.g. Eric Clapton (I Shot The Sheriff) and Brian Ferry (A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall). When artists cover The Beatles,
it never works. Ever.
But what about actors covering The Beatles?

As I was getting ready for work today, I noticed something sticking out of my Jim Henson DVD collection that I forgot I kept. It was a leaflet advertisement for TokyoPop’s mangas based on the Henson titles The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. While I’m not very fond of the Dark Crystal Legends side of the advertisement, I was reminded why I kept this leaflet instead of throwing it out when I read the Return to Labyri…

Jim Carrey returns to his comedic roots in Yes Man, a movie that tells the story of Carl Allen, a man frustrated with his life that one day decides to say yes to everything and everyone. It is a film that offers a very optimistic view on life in general and shows that you can't be 100% negative but can't be 100% positive either, need to have a balance. Yes man give you an hour and a half of pure comedy with hilarious situations and very funny jokes. But it also has it romantic side without being…

Jim Carrey is back! doing what he used to do best, making funny faces and acting like a goofball. But does Yes Man revive old glory, or should it be treated to a sound NO?
Well, a bit of both actually. But heck ,before anything you’re probably interested in what…

Accents: that bane of actors throughout the world both in theatre and in film. They can sell or sink any performance. However, there is no accent more maligned, more butchered, more viciously fucked up on film than the Irish accent.

It's Hollywood tested!
As some point or…

In this blog post, I review the new Jim Carrey comedy "Yes Man"
(Yes, I know I am probably the 1,000,000th person to do so, but I DON'T CARE!)

MY REVIEW
Ok, I just finished watching this movie about 17 minutes ago (no joke) so the film is still processing in my mind as I type, but let me say what I think of this movie based on first impressions. One of the only things that make t…

A valuable source has said that Courtney Love is looking for A-list actors to star in the latest docu-drama about Love's deceased husband, Lead Singer of the influential Seattle Grunge band Nirvana.

Supposedly, they have had talks about Ryan Gosling to star as Cobain and to have Scarlett Johansson as Courtney Love. Now for Cobain I think that Ryan Gosling would be a perfect choice for him, becau…
