Soon I'll do a review of Avatar, which was a amazing film, it's a great breakthrough in CGI were acually looks good. The characters have that connection like John Connor and the T-800 in T2, James Cameron is purly a genius do you think how much brain and imagination it takes to create a whole world species and languege it's amamzing what he could do. The film was vey sad in the 2nd and 3rd act I teared up that shows somethin g big that this film caught with our imagination and hearts. I saw… Continue

For all the down talk regarding “Avatar”, I still have yet to see a single reason as to why the movie has been taking the beatings it has from audiences that would seem to be talking out of their asses. Whether it’s the fact that an alien race has an odd skin color or the idea that reusing plot… Continue
James Cameron has given us some of the most influential films of the 20th century. He has pressed his name into many roles: producer, director, writer, and even editor. All of his films seem to have a few commonalities among them. But, he definitely has a staple in Sci Fi films. He began his career in film in… Continue
unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, you most likely know about avatar. in which you should also know that is DAMN GOOD. yes i know about the south park "dances with smurfs" controversy. and yes, you can clearly tell that this is dances with wolves, recast with aliens because that makes it more fun. but thats not the point. the point is that this a great looking movie with a powerful message and a well executed story. it isnt orignal per say, but neither was district 9, and… Continue

I know this is probably one of trillions of blogs about "Avatar", but shit, I think this movie deserves to be talked about. Well... maybe not in the story and character development aspects, but hot damn is the 3D cool! I generally try to not judge a movie based off of its special effects, but that's really the only way to judge this movie. The story and characters are predictable, but you really forget it when you become immersed in the world.
The greatest part of this "RealD 3D" is the little… Continue
So, it's Friday, you live in a small town, you've got nothing to do, and a friend calls you up to see if you wanna do something. What are you gonna do? Drive around the town a bit and then sit in the Wal-Mart parking lot or go see a movie that's said to be the most groundbreaking thing that's ever been caught on film? Why, you go see Avatar, of course! What do you do after seeing Avatar [and another movie]? You blog about it!

My over-excitement from walking out of the IMAX theater last night has calmed down enough for me to write this review. I usually only write movie critiques if I feel it would actually be worth my time. Not only do I feel this is worth my time, but I see it as an obligation. Last night, I took the liberty… Continue

Call me crazy but I went and watched the midnight release of Avatar last night in IMAX 3D because I wanted to know what all the hype was about. Now most of you may have heard all of the hype on the internet calling this movie a “game changer” or James Cameron himself stating that this will revolutionize the way people watch movies and I’m betting you guys want to know if it does eh? Short answer is it won’t change the way you look at movies, this isn’t the holy grail of movies. What I mean is th… Continue

Now that I’m over the initial shock from James Cameron’s Avatar I thought I’d share my views on the movie.
I’ll be upfront with you. I really didn’t know what to expect from this. Sure there were trailers but I’ve learned to mistrust clips slapped together by the people trying to sell tickets. The early reviews I just didn't bother with. Then there’s all the internet speculation. Aren’t 3D and CGI just gimmicks? Haven’t we seen this story and these characters before? Isn’t this one of those “mo… Continue
Cameron's vision comes to fruition, December 2009
After over a decade since the film 'Titanic' became the highest grossing film of all time and placed itself in-between Ben-Hur & Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for the most academy awards ever won by a single film, James Cameron returns to bring the audience 'AVATAR' a film rumoured to be more expensive than any other film (if so it would be the third time Cameron has broken the record) and is claimed to be a revolution in… Continue

Dear Mr James Cameron
G’day there. You don’t know me but boy do I know you. Your films have captured my imagination for the last 21 years. From Terminator to yes even Titanic I have loved all your work. Why am I writing this? Well Because I doubted you and I need to be punished.
When I first heard about Avatar early this decade I clapped, cheered and waited and waited and waited. Finally when that first trailer was released I was disappointed. I wasn’t one of the Internet tough guys who were s… Continue
Hello there, I’m Jamie and it’s time to watch films that are really not made for me, to increase my film knowledge and make me a better person. After all if you want to improve yourself then sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone.
So let’s begin with Bridget Jones’s Diary, a film with no aliens or giant sharks and very, very few zombies… Nope scratch that, no zombies at all. To top it all off it’s lead actress is someone whose name on a film poster is generally a sign that I’ll not be wa… Continue

3 REASONS WHY AVATAR IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!
Considering the continuous hyping of James Cameron’s soon-to-be AVATAR franchise, many people are starting to get sick of anything-bluish alien looking. Admittedly, the hype machine around the upcoming 3D feature is enormous and it seems like every day there's some new featurette explaining to us why this is going to be the cinematic equivalent of the second coming of Christ.
When I first started writing about AVATAR on th… Continue

And because some one is sure to doubt me, here's my ticket stub
For those of you doubting my opinion, saying that I'm wrong or that I suck, just wait until the Spill crew reviews it. I know they disliked it as well, but are embargoed about talking about it. They had a pre… Continue
Tonight, THE BOX had a Red Carpet premiere in NYC, and needless to say, I was very excited to attend the viewing. The theater was grand, the snacks were free, and celebrities were pouring in by the minute (I saw Cameron Diaz in the theater taking her seat and I walked by James Marsden on the way to the bathroom). Everything seemed so surreal. I couldn't even sit still as I waited for the film t… Continue
