This is the new trailer for The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan and Taraji P. Henson. It is a remake of the classic Karate Kid flick, while this one is produced by Will Smith (Overbrook Entertainment).
I can only speak for myself when I say that after seeing this trailer I feel a lot better about them remaking a classic that altogether didn't need to be remade. I feel more confident and at ease, even though I don't think Jaden has reached his acting potential yet (but he will soon…

Well...I just saw the poster, the cast, and the crew....wow....not in a good way...I'm outraged!!!
Where do I begin?
Well, we know that recent horror movie remakes have NOT been as good as the originals in the last few years, have they? (Fri. The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween. NOTE: If there are people who like these movies, don't bash me, I mean nothing against you. I jst didn't like them.) So, why remake stuff!? This is my favorite slasher movie series of all time, but they have th…

Right then Spillios,
Welcome to another edition of
Cutting Into The Scene.
Professor Ironman Jo has entered the class.
This one was an essay I wrote nearly over a year ago and still consider very highly of. It was in fact an experiment... The lecturer ask the class the question 'Can you tell how the film will play out just by watching the first ten minutes?' ... I wanted to answer it in a deep and full manner, so I explored the Introductions to 2 very different films and noticed…

Watchmen, one of the best graphic novels finally came to the movies pleasing all its fans around the globe. It is a frenetic, mind blowing film full of action, adventure, suspense and some nice black humor. Directed by Zack Snyder, the also director of 300 made a very good job with the adaptation along with writers David Hayter and Alex Tse. The movie is long, maybe I would cut some unnecessary parts and at the beginning it has a slow rhythm but the second part runs a little more fluid. The soun…

I went to go see Watchmen on opening night, and so here is my review of one of the most anticipated movies of the year...that will more than likely be forgotten by mid-June. Because while I really dug it, a lot of others didn't. And the fact that this is the first real super hero movie since the masterpiece that is The Dark Knight (fuck The Spirit) makes it seem even wors…

The Forbidden Kingdom get together the two most representative actors of martial arts movies like Jackie Chan and Jet Li. The result of this makes a very entertaining and enjoyable movie with magic, fantasy, lots of action, very good comedy and adventure. Its like mixing a Hollywood blockbuster with spectacular special effects with a traditional Chinese kung-fu movie having as a result a mind blowing film. They bring some of the Chinese myths to form a very original story and a very interesting…

Hi there Spillios,
Today, I thought that I would put up a review that was sparked over from a trailer I saw. Now, in the States, this film has been out for months now but it has just been released in the UK... Well, not really. I got to see the UK Premiere of this awesome film and I thought I put my two cents on this updated twist on the classic Kung Fu genre... plus it has 2 icons of cinema in it... what is left to say. So here is the Jet Li/Jackie Chan Package Film
The Forbidden Kingdom…

Went to see Kung Fu Panda on Saturday with very high expectations and I wasn't disappointed in fact, it was better than I thought. I was funny and it has a lot of action and adventure. It is also a movie that leaves you some valuable learning like "never give up" and "always believe in yourself". A very good story about an Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of kung fu around which doesn't exactly come in handy while working every day in his family's noodle shop. Unexpec…

You know what. I don't know what to say about this movie....Oh yeah I do. It's some bullshit.
This is not a matrial arts movie. I go to my boyfriends martial arts class and see real martial arts.
First...walking thur the theater they ask if I had a cell phone. I said yes, and the woman replied, "you have to put it in your car there won't let you in." Really ok, I get it people recording the movie, so I run to my car to put my cell phone and my sisters cell phone in the car. Then they let us in…

“Nowadays, you need a middleman to push things; in the old days, we didn’t need a push from a middleman,” Jackie Chan said comparing the difficulties in getting together with a star like Jet Li and synching schedules with
Chris Tucker.
“It’s like two days ago when Chris Tucker called me. We sat down and decided we want to do another movie. Not a ‘Rush Hour’ — something new.”
