Having seen the trailer to DEATH AT A FUNERAL (the remake to the 2007 Brit-Com), I have to say I LAUGHED. I found it to be one of the funniest trailers to a movie in the last 5 years, but in some high quarters in Hollywood, it's being touted as an incredibly racist trailer and movie.
Sequences that include jokes about the dead oriental guy not being Chris Rocks characters dad but instead Jackie Chan, do you see that as Racist against Chinese people? Or is it just Funny, I laughed. Then there is… Continue

Somebody needs to burn this film.
In this satire skewering Hollywood movie making, Eric Idlestars as a film editor who gets a shot at directing a big-budget film (starring Sylvester Stallone and Whoopi Goldberg, no less) but is foiled by his producer (Ryan O'Neal). The premise builds on the age-old showbiz tradition of directors pulling their names from projects an… Continue

I know that TF2 is pretty outdated right now. I originally posted this to my website, which is currently undergoing a redesign and may be down for a while.
Before I began, I am often on the Internet Movie Databases's(IMDB) message boards, www.imdb.com, and I know the typical arguments used to defend TF2 as an amazing movie
There is:
"You go to transformers to see giant robots and explosions, you don't expect there to be academy award winning acting. "
So it is not fair to expect good actin… Continue

Remakes are nothing new in Hollywood, they've been remaking their crap for a long time now. Even Alfred Hitchcock remade his own film, The Man Who Knew Too Much. While many of these remakes were just cashing in on the name, others surpassed their predecessors. Probably one of the most un… Continue

This summer may be looked back upon as the summer that turned it around. It might be the last summer studios and filmmakers throw millions of dollars at the screen for no particular reason. Why? District 9.
Tips for the Producers of Major Motion Pictures
1. Don't Get a Star to be in your movie, just because they're a star.
Today many big-name actors get paid millions of dollar per movie, racking up the budgets to levels beyond what they should be, why do you think "Funny People" cost $75 mill… Continue

I'm really excited to go see District 9 this weekend. So excited that I've been watching the original short film that the director Neill Blomkamp originally created.
It's a cool little short film, and watching this has made me wonder. What short films would make great feature length films?
So I searched all over Youtube, high and low, near and far, and even up and down for a whole bunch of short films I… Continue

Just when you thought Hollywood could not decide to ruin anything more it picks an Amazing Anime (oh and yes a game, But not as good as the Animated Series) Is getting the Hollywood treatment. Meaning we are bound to see young American teenagers with low level acting abilities getti… Continue
This is a recording we did during the month of celebrity deaths - Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, David Carradine, Billy Mayes, and yes, Michael Jackson. We have yet to post it on Hollywood.com so, but given Michael Jackson's recent memorial we figured this would be a good time to release it to the world.
You've heard the crew's opinions in different podcast but have yet to hear them all together. So listen to this casual conversation as they share (Spill style, of course) their feelings and memori… Continue
This is the third podcast we did for Hollywood.com. As you listen you'll quickly realize that we still have no idea what kind of format to establish for this thing. I tried to start out with a topic, but in typical Spill fashion we quickly spiraled into randomness. Regardless of the many times we were sidetracked by discussions of chicken and sex toys, I still would have posted it on our Hollywood.com page. However a busy week kept me from putting it up in a timely manner.
Nevertheless, we had… Continue
Movie Title: 17 Again (2009)
Oh. My. God... I can now die a happy man knowing that I'm going to see a movie involving Matthew Perry morphing into Zac Efron at the expense of an already over-used plot genre about a middle-aged yuppie that hates his life, so he magically turns into a younger teenage yuppie with soul-less eyes.
What heartless, demonic bastard conjured up the idea of grouping two of the most border-line gay/shitty white actors… Continue

Greeting Spillios,
Professor Ironman is back for another in-depth look into Cinema!
This one is gonna be a big one (as in long so be up for a good read!) ... and one I feel the most personal about. This will just be one big comparison to 2 of my favourite films of all time and discovering that they are both very much similar... to the point that it begins to question whether Hollywood has has ever truly evolved in terms of cinematic storytelling.
Class is in Session! Let's look… Continue
Yes this is the first time Ive set up a blog since I made my account. And that was about 3 weeks ago, Ive chosen to not do anything because, well I'm lazy. OK admittedly this web site dose get a little less action than my others, such as Twitter, youtube, and live journal. On youtube I make short films and I'm currently shooting a web series called Diagnosis Z. It's about zombies. So fans of the undead will like the series. As some of you my know if you have read my page, is that I hope to be an… Continue

Ok First Blog Post, so this will probably not have a whole lot of structure but me just writing my ideas down
I'm still in high school, but why is it that most people my age are only interested in the next over-budget Hollywood movie coming out? For the most part all the new releases now a days are tired recycled trash ideas. It seems people are only interested in seeing a ton of gore and cg on screen. No plot or no entertainment value what so ever.
Most new movies i end up adoring are Foreign… Continue

CHUD had a chance to speak to producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, who spoke briefly about their plans for a "Nightmare on Elm Street" reboot.
Form revealed that the iconic look of Freddy Krueger would mostly stay the same, meaning that fans will still see the character wear a familiar jumper and bladed glove.
Fuller added that they are still looking for a direct and they have a type in mind.… Continue

How many times have you seen these situations in films? If you're any kind of film fan than it's probably every second of third film that Hollywood pumps out. Most lessons are harmless enough Be yourself, Dreams do come true and such and such. However, not every lesson or piece of moral guidance really stands up to logic or even makes all that much sense. As such I've decided to post 5 of the most common Terrible Lessons Hollywood Teaches Us.

Accents: that bane of actors throughout the world both in theatre and in film. They can sell or sink any performance. However, there is no accent more maligned, more butchered, more viciously fucked up on film than the Irish accent.
