The Dark Knight Rises Movie Review (SPOILERS!!!)

THIS IS A SPOILER-FILLED REVIEW.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is a violent, aggressive, doom-ridden, thrill-ride of a movie... and yes, it's good, very good. Even a bit better than The Dark Knight. It's definitely a much more action packed, faster paced film than it's predecessor, that's for sure, and it really works in setting up the many other characters we now have to follow (along with giving some more valuable time with familiar characters along the way). The…

Ranking the Gotham Rogues: The Best and Worst of Christopher Nolan's Batman Villains

Of all the superheroes in all the world, Batman is one of the most iconic and legendary. Why is that? Is it his great fortune? His ultimate humanity? His unique symbol or quest for justice? Or is it partly the fact that he has spawned some of the greatest villains in all of modern literature, never minding their origins in comic book form? Yes, it is safe to say that Batman's rogues' gallery is arguably the greatest in all of comic books simply because each villain has a fascinating thing…

The Dark Knight Rises - (minimal spoilers)

I just came back from a trilogy showing/back to back of BB and TDK with a midnight release of TDKR. I posted a mini review just before, but I decided to go a little bit more in depth, so it could be more interesting. It is really hard to give a review without spoilers, so I've done my best to avoid any major ones.  I haven't really done a blog post before, but here goes.

  • It is great - not TDK level, but its hard to compare since they're so different in…

Dark Knight Rises

Imagine if Bane isn't really Bane at all. It's Hush. I mean, the jacket fits the character and all, but I personally think that Nolan wouldn't pull that on the audience. But let's just entertain the idea. Hush is Thomas Elliot, which would mean somewhere, probably at the end of the movie, would explain his demise into Hush. Also, Hush is a much more fitting villain for the so called, "Nolanverse". My plot idea telling by the trailer, is that Thomas Elliot is posing as Bane, and wearing a…

Leon Reviews "HOODWINKED!" Blu-ray/ DVD Combo

It’s not hard to figure out why you might’ve passed on watching HOODWINKED! when it was first released in theaters or later on DVD. It’s a 3D animated movie that wasn’t produced by either Pixar or Dreamworks…or Fox…or Sony…or Warner Bros…or even Rankin/Bass , for that matter.

And the premise? : “An updated re-telling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood.”

*sigh*…

The Dark Knight Rises: The Key to the Next Landmark Film Trilogy?

Well, fanboys around the world are hotly anticipating the third and final act in the grandest story Gotham has ever presented us in the form of Christopher Nolan's Batman/Dark Knight trilogy. This movie has been speculated about for about two and a half years and its only now that it's getting made (and made the right way) which is forever in fanboy terms nowadays when it comes to waiting about any official…

The Dark Knight Rises Casting - The NQP Reaction

Yes the biggest news of the day and we're jumping on the band wagon. But why wouldn't we? Nolan's Batman has transcended its comic origins and become a beast of it's own. When your Nan knows Batman as Christian Bale and not Adam West well that speaks volumes to me. With yesterday's announcement it's sure to fire up debate amongst the fans and at NQP headquarters it did just that. Also we give praise to one of our heroes Mr. Ricky Gervais.

Alice in Wonderland: Not Quite My "Cup of Tea" [Overhyped Disappointment of 2010]

Well everyone's going over the 2010 releases, let downs and surprises, hits and bombs, so I thought I'd join the bandwagon. But rather than make an entire list (I'm too fucking lazy for that. What do you think I am? Productive?), I'm going to review a movie I had been wanting to review for a while. Yes, no surprise, Tea Party Rat is reviewing Alice in Wonderland: Tim Burton Edition…

Yeah, yeah...I know I blogged about Anne Hathaway's (recent) ex-boyfriend already but there's been an update to the story as a federal judge ordered Raffaello Follieri be held on $21 million bail on charges of FRAUD; bilking investors out of between $2.5 million and $6 million by pretending to be a real estate point man for the Vatican.…
