With the somewhat downbeat stories of Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned, it's nice to see Rockstar opt for a lighter-toned (although not by much given that this is still a GTA IV game) installment to cap off the GTA IV downloadable episodic content with a celebration of explosions and wackos.
Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony… Continue
As a straight, white male I don’t think I can claim that I have ever been oppressed. In fact in the entire history of my people you might have to go all the way back to the Roman invasion of Britain to even attempt to make a claim of oppression and a fairly flimsy claim it would be too. What hardships our people faced when the Romans brought us roads, sanitation and mosaics. To be fair though, they did call us wild savages and laughed when we painted our faces blue. That had to sting. Bastards.… Continue

Not too long ago, JK Rowling, billionaire creator of Harry Potter, announced that the headmaster of Hogwart’s, Dumbledore, was a friend of Dorothy. That’s right. The kindly old warlock was actually a witch. The world gasped. Some applauded. It was a random tidbit of questionable importance. Totally out of left field…

Into The Wild (2007) is a personal journey of self discovery. It is based on the true events of Christopher McCandless' life. Emile Hirsch plays Christopher (a.k.a. Alexander Supertramp); a well-off college graduate with a strong will that leaves his life behind to set off on a trip to Alaska where he wishes to live free from society and his overpowering parents. He donates the majority his savings to a charity, destroys his personal documents and identification then packs a backpack and...… Continue

Well, this is a giant step backwards for Todd Stephens.
As if you can’t tell by the title, Another Gay Sequel is the sequel to Another Gay Movie. And it’s unfortunate that this movie suffers from what Steve Job calls “the second product syndrome.” In movie terms, it’s the sequel that is nowhere near as good as the original.
The story—if you can call it that—takes place duri… Continue

To call this film Offensive would be an understatement. The best way I can possibly describe this movie is...well for lack of better word: GAY! Like I'm talking really GAY! But that is not to say that this is a bad movie at all.
First off I actually laughed my ass at this movie! Watching Sasha Baron Cohen do his thing as Bruno is frickin' hysterical and he definitely fits more awkward turns as Bruno t… Continue
A while back, Tessa posted a blog about independent gay films that she recommends. Most of the ones she listed I either had no interest in or have seen before, but the synopsis she suppled for one made me curious as to how it would play out. So I ordered the unrated director's edition of Mysterious Skin to check it out.
Now, I don't have any doubts that Tessa knows her films. It's… Continue
I was very excited to get this DVD in the mail. So much so that it made waiting to find time to watch it very difficult. It is one of those movies that I knew was going to be good, but I didn’t know how great it would end up being until I actually sat down and watched it with fresh eyes.
What movie could possibly have me this excited? Well, it wasn’t some summer blockbuster or anything Hollywood has produced that I may have missed. It’s actually an independent film called Were The World M… Continue

Trailer:
So, yeah, as you can see from the trailer, this movie is a gay parody of all the teen-sex comedies we are all familiar with. Specifically, it is a gay version of American Pie, complete with actor Michael Carbonaro looking like the gay relative to Jason Biggs.
The general plot is also the same. In some hyper-realistic alternate universe were being gay is socially acceptable, we follow four cliché teens fresh out of high school being played by 20-somethings as they att… Continue

The recent Oscar contender makes its debut on Blu-Ray Home VideoThe Film:
It can always be difficult to capture the essence of a historical figure in a biographical film. How does a film maker cover a massive time line and display the cultural significance of some… Continue
I have to admit something. I’ve watched all three High School Musical films. And I’ve enjoyed them on one level or another. I also have to admit/remind some people that I’m a member of the male gender and have been on this planet for twenty-five years as of this writing. I am also called a Disney Geek, though that claim has often been disputed several times. To answer the questions asked to another Spill member by Korey during his HSM3 review: No, I do not nor does my family work for Disney in a… Continue

Greetings Spillionaires, it’s time for another edition of Freeform Anger. Tonight I’ll be watching that movie everyone loves to hate, Twilight, and jotting notes as I watch.
Now I must preface this by saying that I tried to read the book. I TRIED. I was stuck in an airport for 5 hours and I wanted to see what the hubbub was about. Midway through the book I instead wanted to claw my eyes out. Twilight reads like a ridiculous… Continue

I need money for the vending machine. I have 50 cents but the damn Iced Tea/ Lemonade drinks are $1.50! Can any of you come out to New York and spot me a dollar?
In 1942, Jacques Turner directed a horror film titled “Cat People”. He imagined a woman being stalked by men dressed as cats. When he realized how stupid this would look on film he decided to remove the giant cat people from the film entirely. Wel…
I'll go with "Avatar: The Last Airbender", the music is so awesome and not having it's own OST it's a complete wasted opportunity. The closest there is the composers' MySpace page.
You guys got any examples?
