The Dark Knight Rises review...

When Christopher Nolan was developing Batman Begins, people scoffed at the very notion of rebooting a franchise.  How would it work?  Would people take to it, or naturally recoil from filmmakers walking over already well-worn ground?  To most people's surprise back in…

The Dark Knight Rises Review

Four years of build-up can do quite a lot. It gets the people pumped to see what's going to happen next, it raises the expectations considerably since the team behind the film is taking their time and since it's the end, people desperately want to know the fate of all…

The Hunger Games Review

We finally have another epic story that can take the Harry Potter formula to the next logical step. Harry Potter was a phenomenon unlike any other. It got an entire generation to read, it broke all grounds in terms of what Hollywood epics were capable of, and it…

The Plot Hole Podcast - Episode 36

I hope you nice people do not mind some shameless self-promotion with the Podcast I work on, The Plot Hole at Playeraffinity.com. Episode 36 has been put on and the topics of discussion this week are the following:

50/50 Review

Trying to find humor in such a horrifying situation as having cancer or having someone that you love suffer with cancer is an incredibly tough thing to do but credit must be given to Seth Rogen, Jonathan Levine, Will Reiser and everyone else involved in the making of this film for pulling it off tremendously. This is a concept that could've gone horribly wrong if it was made in the wrong hands but the movie and the filmmakers know what they're attempting to do and therefore the story manages…

TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY review

TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY is one of the best films of the year so far, and could easily get a nod at the Oscars in February. With an interesting plot, brilliant performances and great production values, it stands as the best spy thriller of the year.

The basic plot is this: George Smiley (GARY…

In Memoriam: Pete Postlethwaite, One of the Greatest and One of the Most Underrated Actors Ever

Wow! Just wow! I simply can not believe it when I try to process the thought in my brain that Pete Postlethwaite, one of the greatest, most memorable, most recognizable, and most revered and respected actors who has ever worked in Hollywood has just left us for what could be a greater beyond. Of course, when I write a blog…

The Book of Eli review

Sigh... I was really disappointed by this movie. I didn't expect much going in — I hardly even knew what the movie was about. But as it progressed, I got hope, thinking that maybe, just maybe, this movie could accomplish something spectacular. Unfortunately, it never did. But hey, it's January, and almost every movie is like this. Most of them look cool and interesting, but end up either being mediocre or just plain bad. The Book of Eli's not bad, but… Continue

Salty The Beast: The Book of Eli movie review

The Book of Eli

Reviewed January 16th, 2010

Welcome to the year 2043, where the earth has now become a sparcely populated wasteland and everyone wears aviator sunglasses. People possess very little and worth even less. Most are so desperate that they have retrogressed back to being mindless savages, robbing passerbys on the street and solving problems with guns. The reason it became this way was because a war had occured thirty… Continue
