Sink this BATTLESHIP

You knew this was going to be bad, I knew this was going to bad. But, there’s a surprise! It’s NOT bad! It’s REALLY bad!

If there was ever a trial that was accusing Hollywood of sinking to unbelievably bad levels of mining for brand recognition, then Battleship would be Exhibit A for Atrocity. As I mentioned a few weeks …

Saints Row The Third Review: Non-Stop Madness

Saints Row has traditionally been known as the bastard child of the Grand Theft Auto series. Mostly because SR, like GTA, dealt with gangsters stealing cars and fighting with the criminal underworld. But now, the series has evolved into something different: a supervillain simulator that has no pretensions to reality...and I wouldn't have it any other…

Supreme Court Strikes Down Violent Video Game Law

A major victory for the video game industry has been handed down by the Supreme Court today. In Brown v. Electronic Merchants Association (EMA), the Supreme Court has ruled in a 7-2 decision that a law prohibiting the sale of violent video games to minors is unconstitutional. The main reasoning for this, as found in the opinion by Justice Antonin Scalia, is…

Portal 2 Review: One of the Best Experiences You'll Have

Great gaming experiences come once in a blue moon. Experiences that immerse you in the world and you're having so much fun that you don't want it to end. This week, one such experience was delivered by the smart asses at Valve, and it is called Portal 2

Story

For those who have never played…

Super 8 Teaser in...Portal 2?

This has to be one of the strangest, and yet interesting, pieces of cross promotion I've seen. While enjoying the ever loving shit of Portal 2, I found out some websites discovered a teaser for JJ Abrams' upcoming Super 8 in the Extras section of the game. What's is cool about this teaser is the fact that you can find clues and details of the upcoming movie while walking around an area rendered by Valve's Source Engine. You first end up on the train containing…

Portal 2 IS RELEASED!!! REVIEWED TOO!

Portal 2 is one of the biggest games of the year and is set to release this Tuesday, April 19th for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Mac. But PC and Mac owners can get the game much earlier...how you ask? By playing a bunch of indie games.

It all started when Valve released the Potato…

Twisted Metal Release Date and Trailer: Behind the Masks

The new trailer from the new Twisted Metal has arrived. Not only does it show the screwed up tone of the game with live-action cut scenes, but it also shows off the mayhem you'll be causing on the ride of your choice:

The series creator and developer behind the first God of War, David Jaffe, returns to helm this game. Initial previews of the game by journalists are all commenting on how delightfully insane the destruction and car combat is in this game. I…

Red Dawn Remake's Chinese Invaders are Koreanized

Source: L.A. Times

Who would've thought a video game could influence a studio exec's decision? Many of you have heard that the remake to the classic 1984 Red Dawn was going to change the invading army's nationality from the Soviet Union to China.…

Batman: Arkham City Gameplay Trailer: No Place for a Hero

After months of pre-rendered cinematics and hype, we finally have our first look at gameplay in motion of the hotly anticipated Batman: Arkham City!

Well, I'm sold. The initial gameplay of what made Arkham Asylum so great is here, the fast and bone-crunching fighting system and the use of stealth to take out bad guys. Plus with a new extras that are improving an already get formula. One of the few issues people had with Arkham…

Bulletstorm Review: Putting the Fun Back in Shooters

There are games out there that deliver powerful stories. There are other games out there that show the horrors and grittiness of war. Bulletstorm is neither of those games. Bulletstorm is a game that awards you points for pulling down a mutant's pants and shooting him in the ass. It's juvenile, it's crass, it's immature...and it's a hell of a lot of fun. Because what Bulletstorm does…

Minecraft Review

Some of you who peruse gaming websites have more than likely come across a very odd game, Minecraft. This 15 Euro downloadable/browser game breaks every rule about modern gaming development and has become THE success story of 2010. Since it was released in June by a single person as an Alpha game, as in INCOMPLETE, the game has since sold over 1 MILLION copies over the internet. How? How can an incomplete game be so ludicrously successful? So many reasons exist, but…

Duke Nukem Forever New Trailer and Release Date

Source: Duke Nukem Forever Website

After a staggering 12 years of development, being the butt of many jokes, and long thought to be dead, Duke Nukem Forever will come to US stores May 3, 2011 and internationally May 6, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. After the game's initial developer, 3D Realms, fired the development staff in May 2009, everyone in the gaming world swore it was dead. The rights…

Mortal Kombat Mystery Trailer

This video just appeared out of fucking nowhere:

">object>

In case you were wondering, that's Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite) as Jackson "Jax" Briggs and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager) as Sonya Blade. Oh and apparently Reptile and Baracka are not some messed up demons but psychopathic killers that belong in a Saw flick. Johnny Cage gets offed, and Scorpion is…

Call of Duty: The Movie and Possibilities

Well, I suppose it was inevitable. Yes dear friends, it seems Activision, the publisher of the popular video game series, Call of Duty, filed a trademark to reserve the rights to a movie based on the franchise.

Now, I for one have stated several times that video game movies suck and will continue to suck but a little part of me wants this venture to succeed. The reason being is,… Continue

Guitar Hero 5's Stupid Controversy

While I know this isn't really movie news, I am aware that many people on this site are quite familiar with video games. The Guitar Hero franchise is very well known with them as is the rest of the known world. The recent installment, cleverly titled "Guitar Hero 5", has stirred up some controversy via Courtney Love. Last week, she posted several nasty (and pretty much grammatically incorrect)… Continue

Watchmen: The End is Nigh - Rorschach Trailer

On Wednesday, March 4th, people who are getting themselves psyched for the Watchmen film on Friday can download Watchmen: The End is Nigh on Xbox 360 and PC (PS3 version is released the next day). Below is the latest trailer:

Yeah...I don't have much hope for this. Especially when somehow Rorschach can get a strength boost when he yells like Braveheart to beat up a bunch of thugs. Oh well, this gives Alan Moore another reason to curse the world… Continue

50 Cent Optioning Rights to Make Saint's Row Movie?

Gangsta rapper extraordinare, 50 Cent, claims to want to make a motion picture based on the video game, Saint's Row.

For the uninitiated, Saint's Row is an open-world sandbox game that very much "parrots" the gameplay of the Grand Theft Auto series. It is an open world game where… Continue

Pierce Brosnan in James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing Review

While I do like where the Bond Franchise is heading with Daniel Craig, I kind of feel bad for Pierce Brosnan. Why? He had the James Bond character down to a science and he represented 007 for my generation at first. Yet he got stuck with possibly with the most ridiculous and absolutely most terrible plots in the MI6 universe. With the exception of GoldenEye (made by the Casino Royale director I might add), his films were marked with lackluster… Continue

Dance Dance Revolution: The Musical = End of Days

I couldn't make this up, I don't want to make it up. I am almost fainted when I read this apparently that someone is in fact trying to make a Dance Dance Revolution Musical, murmurings of a film are also potential. Here's the plot that will excite you all:

In a futuristic Orwellian society where dancing is illegal, a group of local street toughs harbor no hope of overthrowing the… Continue
