Once again, it's that time of the year...and I'm not talking about Christmas. It's that one special time where you scramble your thoughts around and choose your Top 10 films of the year. 2009 was a pretty interesting year overall, and I'm glad to see that studios released a wide variety of movies that everyone could enjoy. There were many films that took me by surprise, and there were some that gave me nauseating headaches. But not to worry, this list consists of the ones that stood out to me. T… Continue
It’s Christmas time and what’s the true meaning of Christmas? Video games of course! Yes, the giving and receiving of video games. Alright, fine. It’s also got something to do with the birth of a baby a couple of thousand years ago or something. I don’t know, I’m an atheist. Still, video games play a lot into the Christmas experience, especially for anyone in my age bracket. Who doesn’t remember receiving a NES at Christmas? Well, I don’t because I have a shitty memory but I did own one and I’m… Continue

In preparation for the next LEOG podcast discussing science fiction films I've decided on making a list of my top ten films in the genre. Before I go on, I must warn you my list follows the parameters of actual science fiction films. Not that stuff they try and pass off as science fiction. (i.e. Star Wars)
10. The Iron Giant

This has been on mind for quite a while. I always wondered what would certain Disney Animated classics would look if big named and important directors got a hold of them, for good or ill. The following is would be taglines for their posters. Most of these taglines are borrowed from each of the director's own film posters. There are some that I tweaked a bit to fit with the film, others I left alone because it fit the film.

Coming soon , my review of a movie that manages to combine the thrills of 'Jurassic Park' and the mummies of 'The Mummy'! It's the 2000 (Yes it was actually made in 2000) film, 'The Mummy Theme Park'!

Now that you feel guilty enough to read this, let me elaborate - these are five films that I feel were either snubbed by critics or simply ignored by the general public for whatever reason. Behold:
5. The Thin Red Line
Forget Saving Private Ryan, this is easily my favorite war film. It was outshined by Spielberg's movie, which I also love, but what ma… Continue

I don’t think it’ll come as much of a shock that I think this has been a pretty bad year for films. Sure, there was 'Star Trek' and I liked 'Watchmen' more than some internet folks seemed to but things like 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and 'Friday the 13th' just can’t be overlooked and oh how I wish they could be. I held out hope, however, for one shining jewel in this sea of mediocrity and downright awfulness and that hope lay in the hands of a movie set in South Africa which was odd b… Continue

Some of these films you probably won’t find in my top 20 let alone top 100 but nonetheless these films have a long history for me personally. In years to come whenever I see them channel surfing or sitting on a rack at a store I’ll always remember them for one reason.

Marvel has thousands of characters to feed Disney's film, TV, and animation business (Pixar is said to already be eyeballing an Ant-Man movie). As Iron Man proved, they don't need to be iconic to become blockbusters.
Ant-Man does seem right down Pixar's alley, although audiences might be a little tired of all the tiny characters they've already done (Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo). Let's just hope that they don't rehash another Disney movie and… Continue
the other day the film Minority Report was on and i forgot all about and I looked it up and saw it had a 92% on rottentomatoes and i was and wasnt shocked. Like i never knew tom cruise could be in an "amazing" movie, but it was nice seeing how it was a pretty good film noir movie for this day and age. I love some aspects of it, but then hated some aspects like the comic relief and some parts in it. ultimately it was a good but not epic spielberg film. Oh and if you're thinking of seeing this and… Continue

The Happening is a stupid, stupid movie. I don’t think anyone can deny that. In fact, it may just be the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen Snakes on a Plane and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. It plumbs the depths of dumb in ways that few films have ever done before and for that, the M. Night Shyamalan deserves some credit. A few days before reviews for the film were posted online, M. Night said that The Happening was intended to be a B-Movie and I can’t help but call bullshit. If it wa… Continue

There are tales as old as time. Tales of bravery, of good versus evil, of kings and wizards. Then there are tales of people with plastic personalities, wearing plastic armour and fighting with plastic weapons against men in rubber suits who move as if there balls are always uncomfortably caught in their underwear. Uwe Boll’s In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is the latter.
I suppose I should begin by saying I’ve never played Dungeon Siege so I have no idea how faithful this film is… Continue
