Rise of the Planet of the Apes Review

Rating-Full Price!!   Rise of the Planet of the Apes blows away most of the science-fiction films of the past two decades. With its brilliant script that goes to places other science fiction films have either been too afraid to go to or have done wrong. It also features the best visual effects since James Cameron's Avatar, along with terrific performances from everyone, especially Andy Serkis as the chimp Cesar. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is the best entry in the…

Star Trek: First Contact Review

Rating-(Low)Full Price!!   Star Trek: First Contact's plot is that Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise must stop the Borg from altering history. Now, I'm going to let you know right off the bat that the plot is the weakest part. Despite it being well told, it contains numerous plot holes that are kind of hard not to notice. And yet, that is overshadowed by the great acting, smart dialogue, terrific special effects, and phenomenal action scenes. First Contact…

2012 Review

Rating-Rental   In case you have been living under a rock for the past decade, then you probably know that the world was supposed to end last year as predicted by fucking fools. So, I'm going to review the movie which is equally as fucking stupid. The movie stars John Cusack as a failed author who finds out that the world is ending, so he tries to take his family to safety from the oncoming apocalypse. The plot is downright silly, with dumb shit that makes no sense to an…

Alien(1979) Review

Rating-Better Than Sex!!!   What can be said about Ridley Scott's Alien that hasn't been said? It is undoubtedly one of the best films ever made for many, many reasons, and is the very definition of a classic.   Alien takes place in the future, the commercial ship Nostromo picks up a…

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith Review

Rating-(High)Matinee'    The first two Star Wars prequels are awful movies, there is no doubt about that. So how is the third and final Star Wars prequel? In short: Good... surprisingly. George Lucas managed to pull out all the stops in his final prequel, and it pays off.…

Abraham Linclon: Vampire Hunter Review

Rating-Matinee'     Now this movie might sound like the stupidest movie in the world when you hear its story: Abraham Lincoln basically grabs an axe and decides to go out and kill vampires. But believe me when I say that once you get past its stupid premise, the movie becomes so much fun.…

The Amazing Spiderman (2012) Review

Rating-Full Price!!    **Just a quick heads up: I'm one of those that, like Leon and Cyrus, loves Spiderman 3, and the other two Rami films. The Spiderman trilogy is one of my favorite trilogies ever. Reason I'm saying this is because I know there were people that didn't like Spiderman 3, if you're one of those stop reading right now. Otherwise, kick back and I hope you enjoy.**

The story of The Amazing Spiderman is that one day, while going through some old junk,…

Three for Three: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Argo and Sinister Reviews

For once, the actual author of the story set out to make his version of the story on film the definitive one! Not only that but Chbosky manages to convince anyone that his version of the story and its characters in this film should be the only version to be made. It's one of those rare films that…

Total Recall(2012) Review

Rating-Matinee'  I have to admit: Total Recall isn't really all that bad for a remake. Total Recall stars Colin Ferrel as a man whos life is down the shit, basically. Though, personally I don't see how anyone that has hot ass Kate Beckinsale as a wife can be miserable.  So he goes to this place called Rekall that…

Looper Review

Rarely does a science fiction film make you really think about philosophical questions that are nearly impossible to answer but whenever one does come along, it's always a real treat. The same goes for time travel stories. It is so rare to find an excellent example of what a time travel movie should be because whenever…

Resident Evil (2002) Review

Rating-Rental This movie is so damn lame. It's got a lame script, acting that is at best passable, and no genuine scares. Okay, the film begins in an underground labroratory called "The Hive", owned by an evil massive corporation called Umbrella. The Hive's artificial intellegence all of a…

PROMETHEUS Brings the Fire Back to Sci-Fi Horror

This looks like it well end COMPLETELY well

If we get an “invitation” from aliens, let’s treat it exactly like a Facebook invite from someone you barely know and ignore that shit…and remember to defriend them.

It’s been a good long while since Ridley Scott has made me excited in my pants. The man has made a fantastic name for himself in the past decade as the director for gritty or historical dramas, and oddly working with …

Why the world needs "Jersey Shore"

December 2009, a much simpler time. Exictment was building for future films such as "Avatar", "Sherlock Holmes" and of course "Alvin and The Chimpmunks, the squeakeul". Little did the world know that they were about to be introduced to the most rambuctious family to ever hit television since the Cosbys. Season one of the shore introduced us to a great cast of characters. Body freak the situation, spikey haired Pauly, Tig Bitties Jwoww, Sammi Sweatheart, family man Vinny Big Ron and lil Snookie.… Continue

Source Code Review: Science Fantasy Bests Science Fiction

Source Code is a fantastic movie, a smart thriller that gives you a satisfying and humane story and lead character. Weirdly, such a great film is being classified in the wrong genre. Nearly everyone is call it science fiction, leading the film's critics to call Source Code's science "stupid" and "nonsensical". But Source Code was not trying to describe the intricate mechanics of time travel the way films like "Primer" and "Donnie Darko" have explored. Rather, Duncan Jones was using time…

Novels on the web: Are you down?

So, as I'm looking for a literary agent, I'm starting to play with the idea of serializing my novel: The Royal Order of the Blue Crayon over the web, probably via regular updates via a blog and RSS feed, supported by a Paypal button and Google ads.

Now, the big question here: how many of you would be interested in reading a novel in this manner? I'm still mulling over ideas of format, number of updates per week and so forth, so the idea is still very firmly in beta.…
