Ask Leon: SDCC08 pt.1

Sorry, I'm not gonna tell you too much about Comic Con here, you'll have to wait for me to give up up the goods in detail on the 'League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen' podcast this weekend (and Cyrus is already mad at me for saying too much on 'A Couple Of Cold Ones').

What I show do is SHOW… Continue

Batman R.I.P.

I just got do reading the last-est Batman comic and i'm pissed. Why are they jacking Bruce on drugs and hes talking to dead people. And he thinks hes another worlds Batman the red, black, purple, and yellow costume of the Batman of Zur En Arrh. It is implied that his drug-addled mind has made him believe that he is a Batman from this other planet.

Bat-mite even knows theirs something wrong with him. Whats going to happen to our Batman the one we love.…

First Look at "Red Sonja" remake starring Rose McGowan

For those of you who haven't heard, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has announced his plans to do a remake of the 1985 cult film Red Sonja. And, suprise, suprise, he's cast his (ex) girlfriend Rose McGowan in the title role. He's also hired Douglas… Continue

Asterix movies reviews!

Hi! I going do a brief reviews on Asterix movies (both animated and life action).

Now, for those of you who are not familiar Asterix is a cult comic book series in Europe by Rene Gościnny and Albert Uderzo. I my self grow up on reading Asterix books. It’s not a super-hero comic by but a humoristic adventure stories back in 50 B.C. in a village of ghouls which is the last stand against Empire. The two main characters are Asterix the ghoul – a dwarf like but very clever warrior,… Continue

I have no sympathy for Alan Moore...

Frankly, although I do see some of his reasonings and logic about movie adaptations of his material and how he doesn't like them (From Hell and LOXG were horrible) and DC comics really has screwed him over so many times, he really does need to be at least partially grateful for these films.

Do you know how many writers and illustrators (like the guys who are working on DMZ) would kill to have their graphic novels adapted into movies, especially with such creative minds behind the… Continue

The Wachowskis present Keanu Reeves in "Plastic Man"?

Plastic Man

For those of your unfamiliar with the comic book character Plastic Man, he's basically Jim Carrey with Mr. Fantastic's powers. He's a living cartoon character who'll turn into a toilet and literally flush the bad guys, or smack them as a huge flyswatter. Now I'm not exactly a die hard fan the Pliable Prankster, he's amusing enough as a guest… Continue

Graphic novels: Are they better comics or movies?

With the recent release of the movie, Angelina Jolie's sex appeal...whoops...sorry I mean, Wanted, some people are beginning to question Hollywood's capability to translate comic book stories into successful films without completely gutting the original story. Along with the development of other comic book based movies such as Wolverine and The Dark knight, Hollywood is slowly succombing to the realization that Comic books as well as other sources of films that have been disasters… Continue

Pros and Comic Cons: My Experience at a Comic Book Convention Part 3

There he was. David friggin' Lloyd. The man who brought life to Alan Moore's brilliant words. This is the man responsible for V for Vendetta, one of the best comic books ever made and one of the best (if not the best) comic book movies ever made. David Lloyd is here, in my state, in my town. David Lloyd is two feet away, looking right at me and I freeze up like a 13 year old girl who just met Justin Timberlake. Seconds of silence pass as I stare blankly at one of my idols. Eventually I built up… Continue
