Axel Axel's Christmas Movie Schedule.

It's that time of year again. The time of year where people from around the world are brought together, families rejoice together, it will either get very cold or very hot. (For me its sadly the latter.) Those days that begins Jesus's birthday have never been days to go out and be social, that comes later in the week. Yes those few days before Christmas reamin those preperation days, sitting around the tree, making egg nog, or sticking to the Santa clause ruse. So when these days approach I like… Continue

Well...I'm bored. I came home and turn on the T.V. and saw some christmas shit on and when I logged on to my myspace page I saw this person status update saying how many more days until Christmas. So with that I decided to do my favorite Christmas movies and T.V. show...and I'll start my list with the #5...I would like to ask what Korey's favorite Christmas movie or T.V. show is but I can't think of another way to put it other than "Whats you favorite..." and we all know how he gets with "Whats… Continue

el foggy A Review of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, by me, EL FOGGY

Christmas never came so early, Literally it's about 2 months away. This story is known by so many, and has been adapted, retold and reimagined so many times, what could this possible offer that is worth watching again. Well if anything, it's absolutly terrifiying, exspecially for a childrens film. It does a great job of creating really effective automosphere, and… Continue

Zeek Slider Morons at the Movies: Black Friday =/= Racist

With all this talk about Black Friday on the news and how Wal-Mart is going to try to prevent its yearly death knell (good luck, I say), a co-worker of mine was asking me the other day about Black Friday at the movies. I gave him the basic rundown on what usually happens. It’s not as bad as you would think. The day after Christmas, however, is a different story. Then, out of nowhere, he aske… Continue

Drew Pennington Disney's A Christmas Carol Early Review

It was at a screening at work at amc. The movie was enjoyable and a fun ride. Jim Carey played a great Scrooge and Gary Oldman was just as good as Bob Crachit. The 3d effects were great. It surpassed my expectations, for I thought they were going to make a mindless thrill ride, when they actually told dickens' story very well, with each ghost being creepy. The spirit of Christmas is put to full effect. My only complaint is that I still have a hard time deciding on whether Iike the animation or n… Continue

Daedalus Ciarán Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare and Batman: Equality for Comics.

How many graphic novels can you name that would count as literature? There's Watchmen, naturally. And Maus, you can't forget that one! Oh, and The Dark Knight Returns... and eh... Persepolis... that would count too... hmmm. The high art of graphic novels sort of stops a… Continue

Chongo The "Where The Wild Things Are" Trailer IMHO

For those who haven't seen the trailer yet, here it is: This trailer looks awesome! I loved the book as a kid.BUT, like I have said before, this is JUST the trailer. I trust Spike Jonze; he is probably one of the best directors to get for a dark and very odd movie like this. But Jonze's directing style is the least thing I am concerned about. If anything, it… Continue

Madness Mark Fox gets their Christmas Wish: Watchmen Rights

"A federal judge in Los Angeles has granted 20th Century Fox's claim that it owns a copyright interest in the upcoming film, Watchmen. The decision was disclosed in a five-page written order issued on Christmas eve. Fox has been seeking to prevent Warner Brothers from releasing the film since February. Judge Gary A. Feess has also suggested that work on a settlement or an appeal rather than going to trial." So will this affect the release date? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is th… Continue

Twackius Cinepub Presents: The True Meaning Of Christmas.

With the rampant comercialisation of this festive time of year, it's often easy to forget just what Christmas is really all about. Why is Christmas is a question you will often hear gramatically challenged people in the street cry out in desperation as they waste money of the latet 'Jerk Me Off Elmo' or the 'Curse Like A Fucking Dockworker Furby'. Here then is the answer to that question... Well I guess technically it's more about the meaning of Easter perhaps but still, it's a video I made some… Continue

Twackius The Cinepub First Annual Obligatory Xmas Season Top 10 Christmas Films That I Enjoy To Like!

Well, it’s that time of year again. People are roasting their nuts on open fires, toy companies a greedily stroking their chins in manners befitting their evil geniusnous and children are pissing themselves in the laps of creepy strangers wearing false beards. Merry Christmas! It seems as though this is a blog about films and as such I am pretty much required by law to do a list containing my favourite Christmas movies of all time. I managed to resist doing a list of scary films at Halloween bu… Continue
