My city is quickly disappearing. It's last shreds of self identity and integrity are being quickly swallowed up by the consumerist franchise culture that is devouring this country. One of the distinct elements of our town, a drive in theater located by a major intersection, was recently acquired for almost 3 million dollars. Saturday night on October 3rd was the last night the drive in theater was showing movies, so four of my friends and I decided to see a movie before the drive in was no more.… Continue

We all (fans and critics) loved Batman Begins, but some hated Christian Bale's "Batman Voice." With the explosive release of The Dark Knight, folks asked again. What's with the voice?
Christian Bale portrays Bruce Wayne and his aggressive vigilante alter-ego Batman in the two… Continue

Now I know that Public Enemies has been out for quite a while on your side of the globe, but here in Holland we just had the opening night yesterday(lame huh), and I thought I'd share some of my thoughts with you guys. Maybe not that interesting after all the Comic-Con madness, but hey maybe there are some other Dutchies here on the site who might like to hear about the movie.
What really struck me after watching the film is that while it's not really bad (most of it is technically pretty convi… Continue

Public Enemies tells the story of the life of John Dillinger and his brief but well known fame as a bank robber. It is an almost 2 hour and a half movie but its length doesn't make it tiresome, in fact it is a very interesting drama full of action that will catch you from the very first minute and will keep you on the edge of your seat. the story is very interesting and the plot very well developed. The movie is perfectly set in the 1930's with an excellent costume design from that age. The cast… Continue

Been a while since I've posted any reviews, let alone any reviews that were actual films. Well, let me make it clear that the D-Man is back in business!
Anyway, for my glorious comeback into the world of movie reviews, I've chosen to review Public Enemies. The film is directed by Michael Mann, and stars Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. The film is about the criminal career of notorious bank robber and public enemy #1. John Dillinger (Depp) and the efforts of FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Bale) to bri… Continue

SPOILER ALERT:
The Machinist is a bad knock-off of Fight Club and American Psycho, and I'm not just saying that because Christian Bale is in it. What's great about the multiple personality "slash" psycho scenario is that when it's done well, it'll blow peoples' minds. There's no solid plot to go along with the movie, so all it is is a guessing game as to when to expect the next twist, which is really cool, when you have a fucking plot. I found myself getting really bored wit… Continue

*Remember, these are my opinions on the movie, not reality changing facts. Although these movies probably do have positives about them, I will not be addressing them, this is about there overlooked flaws. SPOILERS!!!*
On this edition of Overrated Movie Theater, I am taking a look at a film the has been called the masterpiece of comic book movies. Gaining prestige critically and financially, The Dark Knight has been called a dark analysis of disorder and chaos as well as an allegor… Continue
He robbed banks, he walked into police stations just for the hell of it, and he escaped prison like it was an everyday thing. John Dillinger was one of those guys. In an era where criminality was at an all time high, a man like Dillinger robbed banks with ease. But it wasn't just fo… Continue
Before you wet yourself thinking that this is a review for the new Terminator movie, it's not. It's the mandatory game tie-in that accompanies any summer movie that had a budget of more than $12. For those of you looking for a kick-ass game that seamlessly blends in with the movie...leave now, you'll only find disappointment here.
Supposedly the game was in development by the g… Continue
He launches another very poorly constructed review of McG's latest film, which I did like. I don't think it's great, it's definitely flawed, but it's good. Anyway, check this out on YouTube and read some of the ridiculous comments his supporters leave. This guy attracts some retarded fans.
First off, he is scarcely making a review here. He's just saying: "I was right, the movie sucks, here are the one sentence review summaries from Rotten Tomatoes, you all who liked it are id… Continue
Before I get into my review, I decided that if I ever do a review that it will be structured in a way where I explain what I 'would have liked to have seen.' Whether I will come up with a catchier phrase later on is unknown.
These reviews, consequently, will always be spoiler heavy.

Something that's been bothering me in the field of entertainment for quite some time now's that anything that doesn't debut in theaters or television is never given any shot at award recognition. So much fantastic effort is out there, waiting to be praised, but unfortunately has a tendency be overlooked because of their brief running time of ten minutes or less. But when you think about it, your web videos and full-length feature films have alot in common. In fact, I was stunned how eligible man… Continue
This week, it's time to get out the robots and for some flagrant self-promotion. And, I suppose, there's something of a slight unintentional theme going due to the random video pick of the week actually having something loosely to do with the new-movie-of-the-week pick.
first up, movie clip:
Guns 'N' Roses music video for "You Could Be Mine" from the glory days of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (get up and kick bleepin ass during this!)
random clip:
This is a video that I work… Continue

Second blog review for Spill. Here we go.
Synopsis:
By now, we all know the story for this one. Set in 2018, John Connor is fighting against Skynet, while at the same time a death row inmate, Marcus Wright, who donated his body to science, wakes up to find how much the world has changed. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just leave it at that.
Review:
I'm a big fan of the first two Terminators, so I was excited to see this new installment. I went to the mid… Continue
A lot of people have complained about the new "Terminator" film receiving a PG-13 rating . . .
I just saw "Angels and Demons" today, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as much as I can enjoy an implausible summer thriller (helicopter priests!!). But, what struck me about AND was the level on onscreen violence. I found it pretty graphic. Not to spoil too much here, but we see: two people graphically burned alive, a dead body with dirt shoved down it's throat, a bloody eye-ball lying on the ground, a wo… Continue
