Oh, wait...
We haven't won anything YET. Turns out the
PodCast Awards have this obscure rule that we can't give us our awards until our fans actually vote for us.
Pssh! I tried to explain to them…

When you have to shoehorn in Dr. Horrible and Nathan Fillion into the Emmy broadcast and have that not even be funny, you're trying to grab ratings. Nonetheless, aside from the obligatory "pat ourselves on the back" of the Emmys, Ricky Gervais was funny as always and one show I loved but thought wouldn't get recognized ended up doing so. So fo those who didn't watch it or just unable to find it, here's the list of nominees and winners:
Outstanding Comedy Series
30 Rock • NBC • Broadway V…

Originally I wasn't even going to watch the award show, because I really couldn't care less about who wins. What got me to tune in was the promise of a Michael Jackson tribute and the fact that I like to support anything on MTV music related. Now 24 hours later I can honestly say it was an interesting show to say the least.
The show began with Madonna telling about her relationship with Michael from the early 90's and expressing her condolences for the family. She concluded by say that she felt…

Yes, a man who was never nominated for an Oscar despite a career spanning over thirty years is finally going to get one.
Some of you might be asking
Who is Roger Corman and why should I care? Well, douchebags,
Roger Corman is a famed film producer, director and writer... of cheap exploitation fli…

I can’t think of many films that have actually made feel physically ill. I can watch the most horrific scenes of gore-laden violence and not feel sick. There are times however that something pushes me over the edge and makes me feel a little bit woozy. One scene that sticks out in particular is the scene in The Fly when Jeff Goldblum is pulling out his finger nails. There, I just dry heaved whilst thinking and writing about it. Thankfully it’s just one scene. The problem is, you see, I have a ma…

There are tales as old as time. Tales of bravery, of good versus evil, of kings and wizards. Then there are tales of people with plastic personalities, wearing plastic armour and fighting with plastic weapons against men in rubber suits who move as if there balls are always uncomfortably caught in their underwear. Uwe Boll’s In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is the latter.
I suppose I should begin by saying I’ve never played Dungeon Siege so I have no idea how faithful this film is…

As a straight, white male I don’t think I can claim that I have ever been oppressed. In fact in the entire history of my people you might have to go all the way back to the Roman invasion of Britain to even attempt to make a claim of oppression and a fairly flimsy claim it would be too. What hardships our people faced when the Romans brought us roads, sanitation and mosaics. To be fair though, they did call us wild savages and laughed when we painted our faces blue. That had to sting. Bastards.…

I am an all round geek. A jack of all geek trades and a master of none and one of the facets that makes up that geek whole is political geekery. I first started to become interested in politics around the time that George W. Bush came to power as the president of the United States and so my interest has always been with American politics, which is far, far more interesting than our rather underwhelming British system, and in particular the dark, shadier side of the political scene.
It should be…

Today sees the beginning of a new recurring segment on Cinepub, Last Year In Film. The concept is fairly simple, watching and reviewing all the Oscar and Razzie nominated films of 2008. And I do mean all of them. It’s going to be a massive undertaking and I hope that I can manage to pull it off before the end of the year. With that in mind let’s begin with the backwards-aging, Gumpesque saga known as The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate…

Yes I watched it.
I had to, there was one person interested out of the five of us and she had to be a girl.
Ladies first gentlemen. It was the biggest mistake I've made this past week. I'd rather have been sleeping then sit through another MTV awards show.
Just smite me now Zeus.
Before becoming a film student, I had no real access to cable tv. So I have only seen parts of previous MTV awards. But this year I was surprised of how much it looked like the rallies that I had to attend in my firs…

Kristen Stewart has won Best Female Performance at the MTV Movie Awards. Her fans will be delighted to see her again in the upcoming
New Moon: the Twilight Saga Continues.
I have every bit of confidence that New Moon will be a much better movie than Twilight.
I am not so confident that Kristen Stewart's acting ability will improve dramatically in…

I dunno I felt the urge to write this... I didn't really have to do it and I shouldn't care, but I had to.

Reading the list of this year's MTV Movie Awards that Twilight won, I wasn't even surprised at all. Because hey...
Its MTV... That thing is as credible as an old man's testicles.
And reading more about the winners, continues to prove the ignorant and retardation of the people of MTV.…

Something that's been bothering me in the field of entertainment for quite some time now's that anything that doesn't debut in theaters or television is never given any shot at award recognition. So much fantastic effort is out there, waiting to be praised, but unfortunately has a tendency be overlooked because of their brief running time of ten minutes or less. But when you think about it, your web videos and full-length feature films have alot in common. In fact, I was stunned how eligible man…

Is a film still French, or English, British, or Irish if it's completely funded by American companies? What about if the film's about London, has an English cast and crew? What if it has an American director and is financed by American money?
I'll tell you why I ask. Recently I was in a music shop called HMV. They're a major British music and film retail outlet. It's normally where I go to get films like
[Rec] or
Swept Away which aren't sold in the smaller DVD shops. I simply brow…

So the 2009 Razzie Awards were given out Saturday (the day before the Oscars, as is tradition) and while I'd rather not argue with them (because everything on this list is MORE than deserving), I do feel like the voting may have been skewed a bit...
But first, the winners:
Worst Picture: The Love Guru
Worst Actor: Mike Myers - The Love Guru
Worst Actress: Par…
