Somebody needs to burn this film.
In this satire skewering Hollywood movie making, Eric Idlestars as a film editor who gets a shot at directing a big-budget film (starring Sylvester Stallone and Whoopi Goldberg, no less) but is foiled by his producer (Ryan O'Neal). The premise builds on the age-old showbiz tradition of directors pulling their names from projects an…

The Half Blood prince, the sixth and latest adaptation from Harry Potter's books in my opinion was the lamest and most dissapointing movie of all six. At least the previous five has tons of action, adventure and humor. But this one is two hours and a half of the same boredome story. It is a flat plot that never advances and the lame excuse or romance make the film ridiculously cheesy. The very few of special effects that the movie has were very good. The cast were good but their performances in…

Unlike last year's lackluster lacking of E3 goodness, this year's electronic entertainment expo has helped supply the video game world with much to talk about. Let's go over some of the big announcements (this will not cover all of them) that have been recently revealed.

* Metal Gear Solid is coming to the Xbox 360: Yes, hell has officially frozen over. Hideo Kojima is…

First off let me just say, to those of you who are lactose intolerant, you have me deepest sympathies. Happy Easter to the rest on Spill. I hope you get to stuff yourself with chocolate.

For some of you Easter is a religious time. For others it's just an excuse to indulge that swe…

Read a review once: Man goes to movie. Movie is Batman and Robin. Makes him depressed. Makes life seem harsh and cruel. Makes him feel alone in neon world where what lies ahead is bat-nipples and ice puns. Reviewer said “Treatment is simple. Great film Watchmen is in town tonight. Go and see it. That should pick you up.” Man looks confused. Says “But, reviewer… Who watches the Watchmen?” Bad joke. Everybody boo. Throw fruit on stage. Curtains.
I went into this film ready to hate it. I went ther…

Maybe there's something wrong with me.
I don't see Alan Moore's famous novel Watchmen as an absolute flawless form of storytelling through comics/graphic novels/whatever you call that large stack of printed material you have in the corner of your room. Perhaps novelty hasn't infected me yet when I see the pages of the most revered piece of geek literature around (next to
Up Till Now: The Autobiography and the script of the unaired episode of
Beast Wars, of course).
You've already…

I went to go see Watchmen on opening night, and so here is my review of one of the most anticipated movies of the year...that will more than likely be forgotten by mid-June. Because while I really dug it, a lot of others didn't. And the fact that this is the first real super hero movie since the masterpiece that is The Dark Knight (fuck The Spirit) makes it seem even wors…

Hey guys. You all know who I am. You know I am a film buff and for the past four years a critic and a huge comic book geek and big Watchmen fan so I figure since many of you who know me here on Spill.com know that I'm writing published reviews for the communtiy college paper I write for right now at the community college I am attending right now. So I figure since you all can't see what will be published, I thought I'll post what I wrote for the paper and post here on Spill for my review. So her…

On Wednesday, March 4th, people who are getting themselves psyched for the
Watchmen film on Friday can download
Watchmen: The End is Nigh on Xbox 360 and PC (PS3 version is released the next day). Below is the latest trailer:
Yeah...I don't have much hope for this. Especially when somehow Rorschach can get a strength boost when he yells like Braveheart to beat up a bunch of thugs. Oh well, this gives Alan Moore another reason to curse the world to hell.

In one week, fans of Alan Moore's opus will finally be able to watch the adaptation of the graphic novel, a process that has taken over two decades. Yet, with preliminary reviews coming out, the consensus is so far very mixed. Kirk Honeycutt of
The Hollywood Reporter claims "we have the first real flop of 2009". On the other hand, Ian Nathan of…

Alex Tse wrote the final draft of the Watchmen screenplay, but he doesn't have as much to say about it as previous writer David Hayter. Perhaps he's just modest. Even so, Tse chimed in as Hayter discussed the long development to finally bring Watchmen…

Marley and me is the latest movie from David Frankel, director of The Devil Wears Prada. This is a comedy with the message that you can't plan your life, you have to make it day by day. The movie tells us the story of a newlywed couple and their evolution as a family learning important life lessons from their adorable but naughty dog. The movie has nice comedy throughout and hour and a half and a heart breaking drama for the last 30 minutes. The cast is good and their performances are convincing…

Now this doesn't directly reference, Frank Miller, but it has a lot of elements of his Daredevil. In 1983 when comics were getting darker, I am guessing Alan Moore thought Daredevil was being gritty for the sake of being gritty. Now enjoy Alan Moore's Grit.

The Watchmen graphic novel is very hard to come by where I live. After weeks of searching book stores I ordered it online. I only just finished reading it and I must say, it is one of the most amazing things I have ever read. At that point in time. Whatmen was my most anticipated movie of 2009 and now that I have read the novel, my views on whether or not i'm looking foreward to this haven't changed. Now in this blog I won't talk about the lawsuits delivered by Fox. I will only talk about the fi…
