Somers Town (2008) is fresh and lighthearted coming of age story that has real-life charm and drama. It is serious yet fun look at growing up. The people you meet and the situations you get into, as well as your dreams, truly shape who you are. Being filmed in black and white gives it a clean feel that enables you to focus on the events and characters without distraction. The original music by Gaven Clark is refreshing and perfectly fits the...…

Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third movie of the Ice Age series. In this one we follow how's life treats our three main characters, Manny expecting the birth of his first baby with Ellie, Diego feeling frustrated because he has no adventure in his life anymore and Sid thinking that no one cares about him. When Sid finds three dinosaur eggs and take them with him is when the adventure begins. The movie is funny from the beginning till the end, an hour and a half of pure entertainment. The animatio…

Because I got a new job at a movie theater, I can go see a lot of movies for free. Unfortunately, I have to deal with my summer reading (which was suddenly assigned to me HALFWAY THROUGH SUMMER!!!!!!), so I don't have enough time to review the movies I see. So without further ado, I give you 4 quickie reviews. (Not that anyone really cares).
THE PROPOSAL
Very shallow and formulaic, but so very funny. What makes this work is the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. They're…

Its a another late review!
so Ice Age has churned out its latest offering, is it good or is it bad?
well its not good, the film is now in dumb terratorys, kids will look at this and say its nonsence, the jokes are very stupid, and for most of the time rude. not modestly rude ju…

If you did not already hear, last weekend saw something that is extremely rare in the box-office landscape- a TIE for first place! The estimates for the Friday-to-Sunday weekend for both
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen AND
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs were $42.5 million. Not since 1998 when
The Man in the Iron Mask opened against
Titanic have two studios picked the exact same number for their weekend estimate (though that was on a smaller scale).
Now thanks to…

When I saw the trailer for year one, I was probably like the rest of you, rolling my eyes seeing that Jack Black would play Jack Black and Michael Cera be Michael Cera. But I remember that one of the big taglines of the movie was: "The Very First Road Trip." (Other Taglines include: Meet Your Ancestors and Evolution Begins)
Now correct me if I am wrong, but didn't we…

Okay, first things first, before you get all pissy for not seeing your favourite musical number on this here list, I have to stress that this is a list of
ICONIC musical moments. Some of these song and dance routines will not strike you as being great, or even good, but these moments have managed to last longer in some cases, than the films they were created for. These are the musical moments where, if I started to sing the lines from them, you would know the next line, and be able to see…

Well Carlyle made his post about the situation with the newspapers and blogs. I too have to agree that newspapers are a dying breed. But I would like to remind everyone that this is a double edge sword. There are good things about this transition and bad things. I'll start with the pros of this new digital age.
Pro:
Instant f***ing news.
We don't have to wait for the next day to know about what happened today. Now why is this important? Let's just hypothetically say that the election i…

One of the big upsides of being a member of the League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen (and there are many) is that it keeps me in fairly constant contact with my man Leon. Don't read to much into that. The real source of joy is the fact that in Leon I found somebody I can actually talk about the nuts and bolts of comic books with-not just the story or the artwork but the guys behind the scenes that make the magic happen. Colorists. Inkers. Editors. Before I could bring nearly any well-intention…
