XBLA Third Person Open World Zombie Shooter 'State of Decay' Trailer

Somebody working on DayZ is going to be pissed. State of Decay is a game I had not heard about until today. A downloadable game that allows for Co-Op in an open world while you attempt to survive against the zombie hoard. While this is not quite the egregious copy WarZ was, it is hard to say that this game didn't draw inspiration from the popular Arma II mod. Still this looks a lot better graphics wise then DayZ, and I'm sure there are people who don't own a gaming PC who have been wanting…

Three for Three: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Argo and Sinister Reviews

For once, the actual author of the story set out to make his version of the story on film the definitive one! Not only that but Chbosky manages to convince anyone that his version of the story and its characters in this film should be the only version to be made. It's one of those rare films that…

So Red State is on Netflix streaming.

It's pretty bad. I'm a big fan of the SModcast network and Kevin Smith's work on it, and after listening to Kev go on and on about this movie for months, I'm sad to say that this film is exactly what I thought it would be. It's all raw, unfiltered stoner passion that never quite coheres enough to mean anything. It's never quite the bold statement that Kev wants it to be; it's always more of a paranoid rant. I love Kevin Smith to death, but if I'm being honest, I have to say that Red State is…

Red State Review

Red State is a film that I have been highly anticipating ever since it was announced several years ago. Add on the Sundance Film Festival fiasco where Kevin Smith purchased the film himself and took it on a nationwide tour, it made me even for excited for the Video-On-Demand release on September 1st. And to top off that…

MAK's Rant: The abuse of 3D

This is MAK here and I am going to discuss the one thing that many film fans, moviegoers, and everyday people feel irked and annoyed about and that subject is..............

Yes, 3D, at first, become the new way to experience movies like you never seen before. It would feel like you are exactly in…

Kevin Smith's True Independence

Seventeen years ago Kevin Smith hit the independent film scene with 'Clerks'. The film became an instant hit at Sundance, and Smith became a hero to aspiring filmmakers everywhere. You all know the story - a young convenient store clerk saves up and shoots a small film at the place he works during off hours. Total budget? $27, 575. Total gross after US theater run? $3 million. Moral of the story? Anyone can make a film.

Today, Smith is not only telling people they can make…

Screenwriter's Gem - RED STATE due in March 2011

Hello, Spill!

I'm new at this but I wanna discuss this new horror film by Kevin Smith, I know Cop Out was well...anyways, I have seen the trailer and I must say, its different from anything Kevin Smith has done. I'm a huge fan of horror movies. "Red State" follows a bunch of teenagers on a road trip who end up being kidnapped by radical religious zealots. I judge horror films sternly since I've made a couple myself, and since last years, "The Last Exorcism" was a joke and…

Last Days of Comics

This is the last week our artist have to produce their work. Next Friday they will need to provide their completed, peer workshoped comic. They will need to provide an artists info page with no more than the lines specified. They'll need an artist avatar. Last but not least, a signed legal release form is required to put the selection in the Anthology.

We have four collaboration projects this year! Four! No writer was turned away. It is an amazing feat to offer any author an open… Continue

State of Play: A nice and interesting thriller

State of play tells the story of U.S. Congressman Stephen Collins,an honorable appointee who serves as the chairman of a committee overseeing defense spending. But the murder of a congressman's mistress an the investigation of a pair of reporters along with the police department began to exhume a bunch of secrets. The plot is very well developed and convincing and the screenplay is twisty and engaging. Its that kind of movies with a lot of suspense and mystery, very good drama and a bit of… Continue
