I don't normally write reviews, so I can't exactly say i'm deviating from the usual formula, but with a film so seemingly geared towards a particular audience like this, you can't give a straight forward, "regular" review that will satisfy everyone.
So I will split it up into sections based on the "types" of people who will see this movie. These will be based off common sense, and my friends who came with me to see the movie.
Inglorious Basterds is the newest film from Quentin Tarantino, a man who has undoubtedly had a massive influence on modern cinema since the early nineties when he first surfaced with the brilliant Reservoir Dogs (currently my favourite movie ever!) and Pulp fiction. However, his section of Grindhouse, Death Proof, has been criticised by some as showing that he had gone off the boil somewhat and lost his golden touch invoking too much dialogue and failing to keep the film interesting. Does his… Continue
Quentin Tarantino presents the worst war epic ever, and the best.
When you think of war epic's you think of acts of bravery and heroic's, these are absent from this film, what you get is a bunch a jew's people killing nazi's.
You have probably made you your mind about Quentin Tarantino, you either love him or hate him. But what you can't deny is his heart and his effort he put into his movies. he makes films to enjoy, as… Continue
”Aliens become refugees in South Africa where they are kept isolated from any human contact. While being contained in the refuge being ignored of their welfare, their weapons become the sole interest of Multi-National United (MNU). But only one man, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), can activate these weapons. He becomes hunted for and only one place can give him refuge, District 9.”
For those who aren’t aware of the GI Joe mythology, it started as a hugely successful toy line and went on to become one of the biggest cartoons of the 80s.The story was simple: a group of the best soldiers in the world form together GI Joe, who must take on the evil global organization known as Cobra. I have seen some of the episodes from the cartoon and it’s a pretty cool show. It is… Continue
What is there to say about Harry Potter that hasn’t been said already? The books are the most popular series of novels today, the same goes with the films, tying with James Bond as being the biggest film series of all time. Not to mention the GINORMOUS fan base it has created. To me, Harry Potter is the new Star Wars; they are the must-see films of their generation and will undoubtedly be referenced in popular culture for a long time.… Continue
It’s no surprise that both have a lot in common. Not only are big robot action epics, but they’re also new entries in two beloved series. So how were they? Were they both equally satisfying or hugely disappointing?
Now I am more a Terminator fan than a Transformers fan. I just adore The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, without question two of the best movies I have ever… Continue
Plot: In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one of the students, a mysterious girl who seems to hear whispered voices, fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead. Fast forward 50 years to the present: A new generation of students examines the contents of the time capsule and the girl's cryptic message ends… Continue

”Director Stephen Sommers adapts the beloved Hasbro G.I. Joe toy line with this Paramount Pictures production that pits the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity against the evil forces of the organization known as Cobra. Dennis Quaid and Channing Tatum star as General Hawk and Duke Hauser, respectively, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marlon Wayans leading the rest of the cast, including Sienna Miller, Ray Park,…Continue
A GI JOE movie with one of the Wayans brothers, I'm not suprised the bad press on it.
There are many things I could say about paramounts latest big budget look down nostalgic lane; stupid, chessy, dumb but I think the word I'll use is GLORIOUS. Its gloriously stupid, gloriously chessy, gloriously dumb, gloriously fun.
The film is everything that makes a great saturday morrning cartoon, it makes you forget all your worries, and… Continue
If you're an boy growing up in America, there is not possible way you couldn't have had a G.I. Joe action figure at some point in your life. This was definitely the case for myself, and I still had fond memories of those figures...
However, G.I. Joe is something that is near to my heart, but the mythology is not religion to me. I appreciate what G.I. Joe is as a piece of american nostalgia. When hearing the news that Hasbro and Paramont were going… Continue
John Travolta sure likes to say mother fucker alot.
This remake is one of the very few that I've seen the orignal for, which is really good, slick, smart, but quite dated. So it was a smart move to release a modern take of the story.
What you get is a generic but very smart, tense thriller, that has you quite intrested and excited thoughout.
The film follows Denzel Washington as a MTA Dispatcher, under… Continue

Before seeing this film, This trailers gave off the impression that this was going to be a film that was very much in the same vein as the classic horror film The Omen. It also seemed to me like a film that was destined to let me have a great first half only to deliver a lackluster 90's style plot twist that negates the whole point of the first two acts. I went into this with an open mind and I decided to give this movie a shot. To which, I can safely… Continue
So I went watching The Proposal, why? Well it's the summer holiday I have to get out of the house so when I was asked to watch The Proposal, It was just a way to get out the house.
So I went in to it not expecting cinema masterclass, I was right, but at least it was watchable and kept me at least abit entertained.
The movie is the usual Rom-Com drivel. It's about Ryan Reynolds as an assistant (or… Continue
WATCHMEN, arguably the greatest Graphic Novel ever written. It changed the face of comics forever; I remember hanging out at my comic shop waiting for when I had enough money to get the book. Of course being a teenager in this day-in-age, I had never heard of Watchmen until the announcement of the movie. So I got really hyped, and I really wanted to read the book. But hey, you don't want to here me talk about what Watchmen did to me, you’re here to read a review.…
so Ice Age has churned out its latest offering, is it good or is it bad?
well its not good, the film is now in dumb terratorys, kids will look at this and say its nonsence, the jokes are very stupid, and for most of the time rude. not modestly rude just rude enough that parents will think that it funny, but a little shocking and your kid is going to look at you as if you think you are insane at… Continue

”Adolescent wizard-in-training Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for another year of schooling and learns more about the dark past of the boy who grew up to become Lord Voldemort in this, the sixth installment of the film series that originated from the writings of author J.K. Rowling. There was a time when Hogwarts was thought of as a safe haven, but thanks to Voldemort's tightening grip on both the Muggle and…Continue
Hey there, folks. Having written movie reviews here for quite a while, I just felt like sharing my very first one, which - for some reason - I didn't post here when it was initially written. To the few of you who have read my very first blog post on Spill, you'll know that I ranked this film #1 on my Top 10 Movies of 2008 list. Since I made that list, the movie has grown on me like crazy, and is now one that I hold very close to my heart. Enjoy...…
I had a feeling this movie was going to bad, well its not, I thought that this movie was going to borat, well it is. and I still laughed my ass off.
The film starts of with a prologe, involving random acts of homosexualty sexual inventiveness, with bruno and what I only think was the kid from gran torino, this just gets wrong, and thats what the film is.....plain wrong.
