A Review of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, By Me, EL FOGGY

And the winner for best name of the year is......The men who stare at goats, but this is a very close second.

I was going to avoid this one, but then the reviews came, and they were great. So I thought it can't be that good, annnd it kinda isn't but it is well worth seeing, by an extreme long shot.

When you hear the title to the film, the first thing you should think off is that it is going to be oozing creativity, which is… Continue

Headphones Reviews: Jennifer's Body

It's girls like Jennifer Check that make me nervous about women. The last thing I wanna do, is die with my pants around my ankles and have my stomach and junk completely wrapped into shreds. No thank you, pass! I'm happy being single. ^-^ LOL

Jennifer's Body is a very interesting movie. Not because of the actress (what am I say?),but because of the story (kinda). Let's face it, EVERY school has a Megan Fox. That girl that EVERY GUY would sleep with, and EVERY GIRL…

Rare Review: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Plot Synopsis:

”When hard times hit Swallow Falls, its townspeople can only afford to eat sardines. Flint Lockwood, a failed inventor, thinks he has the answer to the town's crisis. He builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have… Continue

B-Movie Review: Sharks In Venice

Well we watched sharks in venice for the second time this week. Firstly, I would like to point out that we don't actually pay for these films so no real harm is being done.

So there's some amazing things in this film that merit a second watch actually. It stars Stephen Baldwin's nipples which just so happened to be attached to the biodome badass. Hes hunting treasure or some such befuckery. (its a new word but an appropriate one.)

Some wonderful… Continue

Rare Review: 9

Plot Synopsis:

”When 9 (Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to… Continue

9 Review

9 *1/2 out of **** Spill Rating: RENTAL!

What happens when you get a kids film that is too scary for children but not appealing enough for adults? You get a film that doesn't please anyone. 9 has some mind-blowing visuals and imaginative action sequences but a contrived plot and under developed characters bog it down.

When 9 (voiced by Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where all… Continue

Gamer Review

Gamer * out of **** Spill Rating: LOW RENTAL!

I play video games. I may not be a so called "gamer" but I always enjoy kicking up Gears of War for some chainsaw killing action. However, I feel insulted when Gamer depicts the gaming culture as perverted, fat slobs who are so lonely and depraved that they live out other people's lives. But why in the hell am I talking about that? Isn't this an action film starring Gerard Butler? Yes, it… Continue

A Review of DISTRICT 9, by me, EL FOGGY

Welcome to the Indie Sci-Fi!

This movie is the definition of the term "EPIC WIN!!!" Low budget, but a genius director and produce using every penny of it to make something, not only visually amazing, but emitonally too.

The tail is simple yet so deep, it takes you to dark places and you leave the theatre wanting to go there again, its such a great film, it has such great character, not only in the humans but the aliens as… Continue

District 9 - Review

District 9 Review

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 89%

My rating: Full Price!!

First things first, I love sci-fi. It’s my favourite genre and is the genre with the greatest potential. It lets you down from time to time but then The Terminator happens, or Alien, or Star Wars, or my little heart throb; Blade Runner. It’s a genre of variety. Fantasy, you have elves and swords and sorcery, romance you have chicks and guys,… Continue

Halloween II REVIEW!

Time and time again Rob Zombie has proven that he is one creative and talented musician/artist/filmmaker. I wasn't a fan of House of 1,000 Corpses, but the visuals were great in the film. I think that Devil's Rejects is a far superior film than Corpses and I actually dug the 2007 Halloween Remake. It was a different vibe and feel and I applauded Zombie for trying something different and not simply rehashing the original story and give us a re-telling of… Continue

The Comics Guy - Transmetropolitan Vol. 1 Review

Hey everyone, I’m heyra667, otherwise known as The Comics Guy. Why the Comics Guy? Because I have a disturbing lack of imagination when it comes to names. But I digress.

I’m going to work on a default disclaimer for these reviews, but for this one, I’m just going to be frank with you guys. I’m going to try not to spoil things, but it will happen. Not the big shocker moments, nor the big emotional moments. But the little stuff? Those are fair game. I’m only going to spoil if I need you to… Continue

A Review of ALIENS IN THE ATTIC, by me, EL FOGGY

.......Well, it beats Alien Vs Predator in the Attic.

Now it my 4 year old necie's birthday, so we went to the cinema and to be honest, out of the 3 picks she had, she picked the least painful, the other to where G-Force and Shorts, feel my relief!

Well actually, I wouldn't of mind watching those as I could finally tear apart a movie at long last on this website.

Because this isn't half bad.

It's… Continue

Inglorious Basterds REVIEW!

Quentin Tarantino has hit the nail on the head for what escapist cinema is. Instead of giving us the action flick that Tarantino gave us with Kill Bill, he gives us the art-house glimpse of what we all wished would have happened in World War II all of those years ago. The film is just entertaining and keeps you interested in the whole two and half hours.

The Plot of the film is already enough to be it in the exploitive cinema genre, but it… Continue

A Review of FUNNY PEOPLE, by me, EL FOGGY

If only cancer was this funny.

This is Dramady, which either means it makes light of serious problems, or is very serious while having a gag here or there. Funny People doesn't slot into either of these as it is about funny people dealing with serious problems, the gags come from making you laugh at the characters and then having you feel for them moments later. Which is a very good quality a movie like this should have.

The… Continue

Rare Review: Inglourious Basterds

Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Movie Review - Extract

Let me preface this by saying: I didn't really like Office Space.

Now, don't get me wrong, it had its great moments (John C Mcginley stole every scene he was in) But overall the sparse moments of comedic genius were hidden in a plot I felt would have fit better in a 30 minute TV episode.

This seems to be the theme with Mike Judges work, he has very original and creative ways to stick characters in awkward moments that are truly hilarious in his condensed TV… Continue
