"Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two" Is Not That Epic...
It's been a while since Disney fans like myself have been to the dark
world of Wasteland, the alternate Disneyland for forgotten and rejected Disney characters over history. Since then, Wasteland's leader Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has started to grow his fan base out of the nerdy Disney fans origins into one where he has his own float in Tokyo Disneyland and merchandise in Walt Disney World.…

New 'Gangster Squad' Trailer
As promised us, here is the latest trailer for Ruben Fleischer's 'Gangster Squad,' the first since its recent reshoots. What I really like about this new trailer is how it emphasizes the viciousness of Mickey Cohen (…

Drive Review
In today's world, it is so hard to distinguish oneself as a filmmaker with a unique story to tell that reinvents the wheel in a way that suits both the casual viewer and the film buff who is constantly looking to be surprised by what cinema can provide for them. That is one of the brilliant things about Nicolas Winding Refn's mind that makes him such a promising filmmaker who has an incredible vision about what movies are capable of. He's been compared to some of the greats including Stanley…

Immortals Review

For those of you that know me you know that I’m a sucker for mass scale war flicks, especially those set in the old Roman/Greek era, so the moment I saw the trailer for Immortals I knew that I was gonna be seeing it when it came out. The was a second reason I had my eye on this project though and that’s Henry Cavill. For those that don’t know, he’s our new Superman but unless you’ve seen The Tudors (which I haven’t) he’s been pretty under the radar for most of his career…

Mickey Rourke Is Indeed Expendable
Mickey Rourke ('The Expendables') proved to be exactly that for the sequel. Word is that his character, mumbling tattoo artist Tool (yup), will not be returning for…

There's no question that Carrie Fisher had a hard time of it after Star Wars. Her life was a parade of bad decisions and drug /alcohol abuse. Fisher's form of…

The Last Action Heroes
The 1980s was a very special time and place to be apart of. It was full of joy and wonder….well not really. It did however give birth to the action movie genre. Movies filled with big explosions, high body counts, and classic one-liners. Now a days these movies are all but extinct, The Expendables hopes to change that.
Probably one of the most anticipated movies of the summer (for me anyways). The…

If the concept of the library was created today, it would probably be illegal. Libraries were invented in ancient times to copy and store information for scientists and philosophers to use. Visiting scholars would visit other cities, copy scrolls of interest and back to their city where the process would be repeated.
Today, if such an action was taken, the owner of the scroll being copied would be brought to court and charged for spreading that information. Thankfully,…

Welcome to the Dark Side, Mickey - A Disney's Epic Mickey Review
We’ve all seen the concept art, heard the stories, and watched all the YouTube videos we could find. But it’s here. Disney’s Epic Mickey. The game that brings the loveable and huggable Disney company to the dark side. But is it as epic as the title suggests? In a word, yeah.Added by Zeek Slider on December 2, 2010 at 2:41pm — 11 Comments
The Expendables: A Barrel of Stupid Fun

This is one of those films that have been hyped to all hell, and I must admit that I have not experienced immunity to it. As a fan of action films and the icons within the genre, I found myself
anticipating this film heavily, particularly because of its promise to
be a tribute to everything we love about action movies. The giant explosions, extreme martial arts, comic badassery, and some one-liners
thrown in for good…

Iron Man 2 Review

Before going into this film, I prepared extensively for it. I re-watched the first film a couple of days before, enjoying it once again as one of my favorite films of all time let alone superhero
movies. I also read and re-read various film reviews (specifically
Roger Ebert’s) and absorbed the general consensus that it was good, but
nowhere near as good as the original,…

Iron Man 2 Review

So in 2008, 2 films revolutionised comic book movie history; The Dark Knight and Iron Man. They were equal, for opposite reasons. Both played the hero angle
seriously and drew almost immediately from their comic history but one
was an enjoyable action romp…
