Crack the Source

I had the (increasingly) rare free moment today, and I was able to spend it by doing what I do best, and that’s go to the movies. Today’s movie selection is the action thriller Source Code. The Summit Entertainment production stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga, and Jeffrey Wright. I had seen commercials and trailers for this movie for a while, and I was intrigued to… Continue

Dan The Man's Oscar Predictions and Thoughts for 2011

So as everyone among the film community know, it is Oscar time babyyyyy!!! So that means get ready for some of the biggest upsets, wins, and probably tearful moments of the year. It was a great year in the film, and this is what has all come down to it people. The big night, and here are my predictions, I hope I do well.…

Review: Machete (2010)

Let me start by saying: welcome back Stephen Segal. We missed you and we like the change. Now that I think of it, I have never seen Stephen Segal in the theaters. Last time he was there, I was too young to watch him. It has been that long!

With that out of the way, lets get back to our hero. Machete is big, bad, lethal, and often aimless. There is nothing complex about him. You push him, he shoots you. He's like James Bond. He has no plan, but he… Continue

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - Review

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Review

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 97%

My rating: Full Price!!

As I mentioned in the previous review, two movies got mixed up at the 73rd Academy awards; Gladiator and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The Academy’s music and best picture awards were mixed up, Crouching Tiger winning best music and Gladiator winning best picture. Whilst both were certainly good additions in the fields… Continue

Random Thoughts 3 - Lie To Me Review, Bones, and Sarah Michelle Gellar

Yes, for those of you who are paying attention (I'm again pretending you exist), I have named these little blogs "Random Thoughts" as really, thats what they are. And for those of you who are just now tuning in and are too lazy/not motivated enough to read the other ones: I am a aspiring writer who spends most of his time watching movies/TV shows and reading books. And after the 50,000th mini rant, my friends told me I should just write it down. So loving this site, I've decided to use its blog… Continue

LOST: News and Explanations

The date has been set and the fifth season of LOST will premiere on January 21, 2009, at 8 p.m.!

If you happen to be marking that on your calendar you'll be the first to notice that means the show is returning to it's old time slot on Wednesday nights (last season it was moved- much like the island- to Thursday nights.)…

Eagle Eye: A very interesting thriller

Eagle Eye was a very good thrilling movie. A film like and adrenaline shot from the beginning to the end. You really can feel the tension during its two hour length. It is full of suspense, mystery, action and adventure. The story is interesting, although at some moments it was hard to believe. I like how they manage the human manipulation, the loss of privacy, the violation of your rights and how the technology no matter how useful it is, it can be used to harm and destroy. The cast is really… Continue

Battle In Seattle Final Trailer and Poster!

You may not have heard about the upcoming film Battle in Seattle, but odds are you will. An ensemble cast movie directed by first timer Stuart Townsend (who you know best as ACTOR Stuart Townsend), this is a retelling of the events in Seattle during the 1999 WTO protest/riots. The best way to describe this is to call it the CRASH of protest movies. Its aim is to show how things got out of control from all sides and it does so very effectively. I saw this back at South By Soutwest earlier this… Continue

Made of Honor review

Made of Honor although it is identical to My Best Friend's Wedding except for the ending, believe it or not it is a very enjoyable romantic comedy. It has all the ingredients to entertain and spend a really good time with whoever you want to. It is very funny and romantic without being corny. The story about a man, Tom Bailey who is in love with his best friend Claire. But Tom has a fear of commitment and refuses to admit the obvious When Colin, a rich Scotsman sweeps Claire off her feet and… Continue

Sarah Michelle Gellar... What an Ass.

I feel sorry for all you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans who rushed out to buy or even rent SOUTHLAND TALES (the only movie of 2007 worse that NORBIT) on DVD just because you'd get to see your imaginary girlfriend, Sarah Michelle Gellar, playing a pornstar. Okay, maybe you weren't shocked that she was the only PORNSTAR that never takes her clothes off(!!). But at least you got to see her naked ass on the box of the 'Krysta Now' video, right?…
