Zero Dark Thirty Review

It took ten years and two wars to find the most wanted man in contemporary American history: Osama bin Laden, the fanatical man who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians around the world. Whether the events in this film portray the facts or are merely a variation of what really…

The academy shares their opinion, like always :questions about the academy...

So you feel Christophor Nolan was snubbed at the academy awards. My question to you is … who cares? If you believe that Christophor Nolan is getting what he deserves…who cares?

Who is the academy? What gives them the right to decide what the best movies of the year are? That idea is an extremely subjective idea, honestly. What makes their opinion more valuable than anyone else’s. A friend of mine tells me that…

The Hurt Locker and Green Zone- Iraqi Mania

Within two weeks or so, I saw both the Hurt Locker and Green Zone. Both were amazing movies and were very intense in their own ways. I will be comparing both films in a few different categories within no particular order. I'm not here to say that one movie was better than the other but simply to state some fair comparisons between the two films.

Story-

Hurt Locker- The movie is about three soldiers: William James, J.T Sanborn, and Owen Eldridge. They are all trying to… Continue

Alternative Films that could've have been Nominated for Best Picture Academy Awards (A Mashup parody blog)

I think this year's Academy Award Nominations for Best Picture has had a wonderful selection, but unfortunately not everyone agrees with the choices. Some complained that Avatar was unoriginal, Inglorious Basterds too talky, and so on and so forth. Most spill members downright hated some of the selections on the list. Well I think the proper solution to this would to combine the nominations together and you not only get better selections but better films as well. Check this… Continue

The Truth About The Hurt Locker

There are many great things to be said about the Hurt Locker. It down to the ground, real world look, the tension its story and set pieces create, the psychological portrait of three very different people and

their interactions with each other without resorting to sophomoric machismo

(well, unrealistic sophomoric machismo).

But there is one thing that bothers me about the film. The violence is…

My Top 10 for 2009

Hey everyone, I'm sorry this is a little too late, but I felt like I needed to see all of the years biggest films to fully make this reasonable so here we go:

10. The Messenger

For some reason this film was advertised about a romantic trance between a torn-woman and the messenger, but it is not that at all. This is a film that effectively shows the dramatic effect that war can put on veterans, that are beautifully portrayed by Harrelson… Continue

Chris Reviews The Hurt Locker

There are many different types of films, the good ones, the okay ones, the bad ones, and the great ones. It is very rare you see a movie that you consider flawless. It is even rarer you see a movie that you consider a masterpiece. "The Hurt Locker" is a rare type of film. "The Hurt Locker" is a masterpiece. This may be the BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. It is a F***ing shame that a movie like Transformers 2 gets put together without any thought… Continue

Opening Sequence of The Hurt Locker (9 mins)

The Hurt Locker

Nothing but the hurt left here.

Nothing but bullets and pain

and the bled out slumping

and all the fucks and goddamns

and Jesus Christs of the wounded.

Nothing left here but the hurt.

Believe it when you see it.

Believe it when a 12-year-old

rolls a grenade into the room.

Or when a sniper punches a hole

deep into someone’s skull.

Believe it when four men

step from a taxicab in Mosul

to shower the… Continue
