JASON: Jack Ketchum is certainly one of the more celebrated horror authors out there, and certainly one of the most sadistic. I say that with love, of course. The latest adaptation of one of his tomes of brutality is
'Offspring'. The set-up is simple.…

CYRUS: More horror? More underground films? Deal with it. It's what
Jason and I do best, rummaging through the plethora of crappy movies in order to pick out the ones that you should bother with seeing. Whether it's at film festivals, like our

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Review
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 53%
My rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit!

We have arrived at the fifth View Askewniverse film, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. At the time, Smith declared this would be the last film featuring Jay and Bob and his last film set in his universe. I watched it and said thank god. If it wasn’t for the acceptable Clerks II afterwards, this movie could have pulled…

Written review by: Leon
Once again, as with ‘Office Space’, ‘King of the Hill’ and even ‘Idiocracy’, Mike Judge does that thing that he does best: brings to life those oddball characters we universally suffer through our daily lives. Every one of them would make you say “I know somebody just like that guy”. And in the same way that ‘Election’ is a “quasi-but not really” sequel to ‘Ferris Beuller’s Day Off’, EXTRACT is a…

Let me preface this by saying: I didn't really like Office Space.
Now, don't get me wrong, it had its great moments (John C Mcginley stole every scene he was in) But overall the sparse moments of comedic genius were hidden in a plot I felt would have fit better in a 30 minute TV episode.
This seems to be the theme with Mike Judges work, he has very original and creative ways to stick characters in awkward moments that are truly hilarious in his condensed TV…

Peter Berg had an interview with Sci Fi Wire about the chance of his awesome movie, Hancock, happening, that
starred Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Jason Bateman.
Peter Berg said that he would love to do a Hancock 2.
In the film Hancock, he told us that Hancock(Will Smith) is an immortal god that becomes vulnerable in the presence of a goddess, which is Jason…

I viewed Jason Staatham's latest installment in the Crank series this weekend, and man had to leave because the subject matter was too much for my kid. It was definitely non-stop action and kind of quirky in a disturbing way. I mean the premise of it wins kudos for originality, a fiend has taken his heart and he escapes and has so many hours to get it back. How lucky he is to know somebody who not only knows all about his problem but can put his heart back in his body. It's got lots of skin and…

With all the Horror remakes such as
My Bloody Valentine, Jason (Friday the 13th), Texas Chainsaw Massacreand Mike Myers
Halloween now we will get a new Freddy film but in this case no matter what is done there will be only ONE true
Freddy Kruger, Robert Englund.
So here is my take on what should be done because we all know by now that there is a new Nightmare on Elm Street on that way and anyone who is still in denial…

By now considered one of the “greats” of the horror genre, Friday the 13th spawned a whole myriad of sequels, ranging from direct continuations to expeditions in space and hell. Although all of them went on to star Jason Voorhees, it was the 1980 original that had his mother in the killer shoes, serving up a whole mixture of mayhem at Camp Crystal Lake. With an all-new remake hitting theaters,…

Yes this is the first time Ive set up a blog since I made my account. And that was about 3 weeks ago, Ive chosen to not do anything because, well I'm lazy. OK admittedly this web site dose get a little less action than my others, such as Twitter, youtube, and live journal. On youtube I make short films and I'm currently shooting a web series called Diagnosis Z. It's about zombies. So fans of the undead will like the series. As some of you my know if you have read my page, is that I hope to be…

I kept thinking to myself today; "Why does nobody make great comedy anymore? Why don't people make comedy anymore?" I mean, look at it; the best thing that's been released in the past three years of comedy is, arguably,
Tropic Thunder. But hell, if we're to be honest about it films such as
Disaster Movie, or
Meet The Spartans, have managed to get as much attention, if not more, and have left more of a mark on our perceptions of modern comedy. I'm sure most of you could name…

Well, the trailer for Crank 2 (sequel to 2006's Crank) is up. The trailer is looking a lot better than the poster in my opinion. The movie looks like it should make its money. I just hope its a lot better than Death Race.

Kevin Smith's 2008 film Zack and Miri Make a Porno could potentially be a second universe within Kevin Smith's movies. We have Askewniverse made famous first by 1994's Clerks, and for the first time, Kevin Smith has made a film outside of that universe that's good enough to be able to actually start it's own saga. With Kevin Smith's trademark dirty jokes, conversations that have no point or go nowhere, and protagonists with not a hell of a lot of redeeming qualities to them, this film could…

Jason Bateman has some news for Arrested Development fans who are pointing the finger at Michael Cera and claiming he doesn't want to do take part in a movie about the adored-but-short-lived series.
Cera was quoted saying something to the effect of, when you can watch the show on DVD, why do you need to see a movie?
"Well, I think…
