Open World Survival Horror Game The Forest - Trailer
Something new in the video game horror genre? Quick! Make a bunch of sequels that gradually explain away the creepiness and ramp up the action! Well before that happens you can enjoy The Forest for what it is. I'm not really sure we've ever had an open world first person survival horror game (with money behind it) before.…

Hellraid Trailer
Attempting to make a fantasy world first person RPG while Skyrim is already out there is a risky move, but Techland doesn't seem to be backing down. They will be using the same engine from Dead Island: Riptide so it has already been tested in some form or another.…

Wilm Film: A First for Everyone
“Thank you for coming out and supporting the festival,” says the kind, elderly volunteer as we pass her our tickets. She looks genuinely excited to be here, and I can only pray we see this level of excitement from the rest of the volunteers.…

Disney Closes LucasArts and Cancels All Projects
There but for the grace of god. In a move that probably shouldn't come off as that shocking, Disney effective today shut down LucasArts and has cancelled Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault. Disney has said they will still use the name to publish games, but the studio and everyone working there has…

First Trailer for "Thief" Unveiled
Late last night the first trailer landed online for the reboot of the cult favorite Thief franchise. As most first trailers tend to do there is no gameplay shown, only a pre-rendered cutscene. If this was the trailer they were eager to get out so that they could stir up some excitement for the game I would say they failed. Nothing really stands out about this other than a sort of steam punk world that is very dark. Perhaps the only people I can see getting excited over this trailer are fans…

Hitman: Absolution – First Impressions
Hitman: Absolution is here! After receiving a package from the UPS guy, I opened up it up with much delight to reveal the Professional Edition which looked impressive instantly. I removed the sleeve to unveil a very elegant packaging with the trademark "ICA" logo. Inside was the game, bonus DVD, DLC codes, and finally, the art book of the game which is the main highlight of the Professional Edition. Note: I've only skimmed through the first couple of pages of the book, there were slight…

Marvel Season one
So I've finally gotten around to reading some of Marvel Season one and I got to say, it's an interesting update of the origins. I was privileged enough to read both of the Team books: FF and X-men. I'm also now reading the first of the second wave Ant-man. The art in both the team books is very well done for a graphic novel, nothing mind blowing alex ross level but nothing horrid Rob Liefeld level(though from the first few pages of Ant-man, I'm cautious as it appears to look very cartoon…

We finally have another epic story that can take the Harry Potter formula to the next logical step. Harry Potter was a phenomenon unlike any other. It got an entire generation to read, it broke all grounds in terms of what Hollywood epics were capable of, and it…

How I met Abbot & Costello
Ok so I didn't literally meet Abbot and Costello, but I was first introduced to them today by my dear ol' mommy.
I had a moment with my mom today where I asked her to print a couple pages of an explication I needed for class. Long story short we ended up in this asinine txt conversation that led to a huge misunderstanding and her asking me, "who is on first." my response is, "what" she replies with, "No, who".
So now after a sit down with my mom,…

The Top 10 Movies I Saw in 2011
DISCLAIMER: I would like to say that due to my unfortunate location and inability to see so many of the other big movies that came out this year due to time or place, these are the movies that I've seen this year and that I've enjoyed the most and were released this year.
10. Super 8. Despite the ending being a bit of a whimper, I must admit that this movie was such a great thrill ride of a mystery that pays a beautiful tribute to the classic Spielberg films…
