Jesse Eisenberg Sues Lionsgate Over 'Camp Hell' DVD Cover

If you peruse the new release wall of your local videostore, assuming of course that it hasn't already closed it doors for good, you may notice a peculiar DVD cover. It is for a rather basic direct-to-video horror film called 'Camp Hell' and just as you are about to turn up your nose and walk by, you notice the familiar visage of one…

It's finally Halloween....whatcha gonna watch? Part Two

Candy, oh shit, did you get candy? What if all those little tykes come to your door expecting a treat and are met with only silence? Or even worse, with apples?!?! Dammit, man, get yer ass to the store and buy some decent candy, like Reeses or something, and stat. While you're out, might as well head over to the video store and decide what you're gonna submit yourself to as you wait for midget monsters to make their appearances at your…

Saw 7/The Final Chapter/3D review and a retrospetive from a fan

Saw 7 is to Saw what Jason X is to Friday the 13th. 7 years 7 movies ranging from ground breaking to pure shit, this ain't ground breaking. Saw 7 is a cheaply made badly written film with forgetable characters a few sub plots that end in a crappy place and a final absolute resolution to the Saw Franchise. This is a good thing that they're ending it but a bad thing they're ending it on such a bad note.

Why You Should Resurrect Your Video Player

You must think its the ramblings of a madman to even suggest looking at a video player. I'm sure your thinking, 'Videos! I've got a blue ray player!'. It's true, Blue rays and DVD's beat Videos in every conceivable contest; quality, features and space they they take up. But there is one contest videos always win. Price.

After the Christmas holidays one of my house mates brought her old video player to the house…

All I Found "Under the Red Hood" Was Some Ol' Bullsh*t

These DC Animated "Originals" piss me off. At the same time, I sort of owe them at least for pointing out to me "The New Frontier" since I was on a comics hiatus around the time the comic hit shelves. I'm sure the situation is the same for many more people since we all know the depressing statistics on how many people read comics, even after the record-breaking successes of the live-action superhero franchises. My stance on this is similar to /Film's Devindra Hardawar's on American remakes of… Continue

The Great Movie Quest Review of Vertigo by A Hitchcock. ( Beware Spoilers!)

ht

Its the first day of The Great Movie Quest and while my intention was to start off with Citizen Kane, It did not get here from netflix in time, so I settled for my second choice, Vertigo. Settled however, is the wrong word to describe this movie however, mainly because its a brilliant film.

Jimmy Stewart plays a detective named Scottie Ferguson who after watching a man fall to…

The Great Movie Quest

Here it comes, the long hot days of summer and I have thought carefully about what I could try to accomplish in the days, weeks, and months to come. I think I have come up with an idea that will most likely take up my time for the rest of the year. However, if I complete this task, I will have expanded my knowledge of cinema and my love for the art for then I could ever imagine. Im writing this because, Dear Film Lover, I want you to join me, and together, maybe we can learn something. So I… Continue

"Ponyo" is Studio Ghibli's First Blu-Ray! Is there more to come?

Ponyo has been announced in the states to be Studio Ghibli's first Blu-Ray release. Naturally, this is old news in the Land of the Rising Sun, but it does beg the question: Will the other films be re-relased in Blu-Ray?

Currently, the only re-releases scheduled are for My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Laputa/Castle in the Sky. Amazon.com is reporting that these three films will be in DVD format only and… Continue
